Is this disruption worth it? As a cyclist, think of all those red lights you can ignore now, and there's no one that's going to stop you doing it time after time, and the streets are all yours I remember working in Leatherhead on the Sunday morning when the event was down there (I had been called out to fix a server, couldn’t reach the client as all the roads had been shut, had to abandon my car and walk there) it is a lot of disruption but as Sadiq Khan has already given most of London's road infrastructure to cycle lanes and slashed speeds in their favour, what's to stop him giving into the cyclists for this as well? There has been very little mention of this event, thanks for the heads up, they could do something at the Olympic Park rather than close all those streets for a few days

Those living in SW London and Surrey didn’t want it anymore because of the disruption and late reopening of roads, and the very limited crossing points (there are virtually no flyovers in SW London so routes to shops, hospitals etc couldn’t be reached). Honestly see no benefit in bottlenecking the whole of East London just so a few people can go and have a joyride on a road. They should just go and ride in a park. Normally they are wobbling across a junction right in front of the very bus I've waited an hour to photograph ........... bl88dy annoying - thankfully I'm on rest days that weekend. TBH who's going to notice any difference anyway from the frequent state of the A406 / A13.

The 20 is allegedly being diverted via the M11 and A406 due to the Ride London event. Unfortunately, still no sign of route specific information on the TfL website though.

Route 20 will be diverted in both directions between Waterworks Corner and Hillyfields in Debden from first bus until around 1830. Buses will divert via North Circular Road, M11, Chigwell Lane and Rectory Lane to Hillyfields. Please note that there are no bus stops on this diversionary route. Passengers for Loughton should change to the Central line at Debden Station or walk from Hillyfields.

There will be some very unique diversions in east London on Sunday.
Below are a few!
Route 8 will run between Liverpool Street Station and Bow Church only from 0700 until around 1830. Also, from first bus until 1930 route 8 will be diverted in both directions between Roman Road / Grove Road and Bow Church with buses unable to serve the eastern end of Roman Road, St Stephen's Road, Old Ford Road, Parnell Road, Tredegar Road or the A12. Buses will instead divert via Grove Road, Mile End Station and Mile End Road. All bus stops will be served on the diversionary route.
Route 276 will be diverted in both directions between Bow Bus Garage and Newham University Hospital from first bus until around 1830. Buses will divert via Bow Road, Bow Church DLR Station, Campbell Road, Devons Road DLR Station, Violet Road, Morris Road, Chrisp Street, All Saints DLR Station, East India Dock Road, A13 Newham Way and Prince Regent Lane to Glen Road. Stratford Town Centre will not be served during the diversion, change on Rothsbury Road to route 339 or diverted route 108 or use the DLR from Bow Church. All bus stops will be served on the diversionary route. Route 425 will be diverted in both directions between Stratford Bus Station and Grove Road / Roman Road from first bus until around 1830. Buses will divert via Great Eastern Road, Angel Lane, Leyton Road, Penny Brookes Street, Montfichet Road, International Way, Stratford International Station, Westfield Avenue, Waterden Road, Marshgate Lane, Bassett Lane, White Post Lane, Rothbury Road, Wansbeck Road, Wick Lane, Tredegar Road, Parnell Road, Old Ford Road, St Stephens Road and Roman Road to Grove Road. Mile End, Bow Road, Bow Church and Stratford High Street will not be served please use the Central line or the DLR instead. All bus stops will be served on the diversionary route.
The 8 and 276 will include turning right from Fairfield Road which is normally Left turn only.

When it used to go to Surrey, some years they had the 65 and 371 diverted via Seven Kings Way (a one way street) in the wrong direction to reach Kingsgate Road where buses stood, but later years shortened route further and made them do a U turn in Richmond Road (near Gibbon Road turning where road is 5 lanes wide). The annoying (and confusing) thing for most passengers was that although it was a regular event, no blinds were ever used for short workings, and I-bus didn’t seem to be programmed so would still show the normal destination. But it does mean the drivers get to use PA a lot to announce corrections to I-bus announcements

Wow, I would never have expected that, particularly the right turn from Fairfield Road.

What sort of speed can the buses on the 20 achieve when going up the M11?

Wow, I would never have expected that, particularly the right turn from Fairfield Road. This is not 100% confirmed, a family member told me the 8 turn righ diversion signs are up and believe Bow Roundabout is closed so no other way towards Mile End.
