Bus workers at Translink, which operates virtually all bus and coach services in the Province, have voted to take strike action. The strike will commence on Tuesday 17th May and will run through to Monday 23rd May. The strike is expected to be total, with no Metro, Ulsterbus, Goldline and Glider services operating for the entire week. Public school buses will not be running either, a move which has attracted much criticism as many students are sitting GCSE, AS and A-level exams this week. Translink has said it is still willing to engage with the unions regarding covering of school duties.
Bus lanes will remain operational for cycles, taxis and any buses and coaches that are operating.
Train services are not affected and will operate normally.
