Oh yes I forgot about them, they look virtually like the 720 with better headlight design I think the 701s have less pointy front ends compared to the 345/710/720 fleet. There's also the class 730 that have gangway connections at the front. As much as I like the 345s, it's a real shame GA didn't order a fleet for FLIRTs instead- the 745/755s are absolutely brilliant trains 709's were an initial 3 car set built by Bombardier to deal with short platforms at Hackney Downs. Capable of 140mph as they are so light, but restricted to 75. Instantly recognisable by the pantograph above the drivers cab, there are thought to be about 10 units in service. They run in 6 car formation in the rush hour

Has the new 720's entered service on the C2C. i have not seen any on the route, but do not use it that often. I have seen them parked up at Ilford depot though. No but I've seen them running between Crewe and Wembley Central on test, No C2C drivers are currently trained on them as none have been accepted for delivery yet That is what I thought, as I was wondering how come I never saw one in service yet. Been a while for them to enter service.
