A limited service on key routes..... www.buses.co.uk/christmas-day-bus-serviceThis year we are supporting essential workers and keeping you connected with loved ones with a brand-new Christmas Day service. We know it's essential for you to be able to travel across the city 365 days a year, that's why this year we have introduced this special Christmas Day service on routes 1/1A, 5B, 7 and 49.

I’m working on Christmas Day: Many of my profession are. Yet none of us can get to work on public transport. Perhaps one day tfl will see sense.

Indeed, similarly supermarkets in the last couple of years have finally started to close on Boxing Day as well to give staff an extra day off.

It will be interesting to see how Brighton and Hove staff these services then. I’m sure they wouldn’t run them if they didn’t have volunteers. Who should be allowed to work if they want to.
People forget for some without families or estranged, they want to work rather than get depressed by themselves. I count myself in that category.

I think it's 11 buses in total so there should be more than enough drivers willing to cover it, presumably all from Conway Street? Christmas can be difficult for many people and police are often busy with domestic incidents as the stress of it all becomes too much for some people.

With tfls finances thou it would be a another cost burden to take on at the moment.

I plan to work Christmas Day again too, even though I normally swap to avoid working Sundays. I have noticed that my company provides quite a bit of flexibility to Christmas Day staff to choose their days off around then.
