What zones do you think Bromley North and Bromley south should be in? I personally think that them being in 2 different zones is silly especially given the distance. I,'d move Bromley North to zone 5 as Bromley feels too far out to be a zone 4 town

I,'d move Bromley North to zone 5 as Bromley feels too far out to be a zone 4 town because Grove Park and Sunbridge Park are in Zone 4 as well. if Bromley North change to Zones 5 then people won't exchange from other lines to this train line to Bromley North from Grove Park. They will get the bus at fare cheaper!

There’s the situation in Watford where the stations are in 3 different zones. Watford Met - Zone 7 Bushey & Watford High Street - Zone 8 Watford Junction - Special Fares zone

Should all be in zone 7 considering Watford is not that far from London

Even with national rail tickets, I think Avanti services are officially drop-off/pick-up only, i.e. only valid towards Birmingham. So passengers travelling between Watford Junction and Euston have to use London Northwestern (or Overground) regardless of ticket type. There is a lot of inconsistency with the fare zones if you compare stations on the Overground & WCML to nearby ones on the Met Line. For example Chesham is about equivalent in distance to Berkhamsted (where oyster isn't valid), but with fares significantly cheaper than Watford Junction.

It's clearly done to gear people towards certain stations, there is probably very good reasons why this happens.
