Hurricane Diane strikes again. She is a total embarrassment of a human being.

Far be it from me to defend Diane Abbot but in fairness it was a not unreasonable response to what Lee Anderson said, and he could have been a bit more diplomatic even though he's only saying publicly what many people are saying privately.

They're both in the wrong in my opinion. No surprise that Diane Abbott is spewing controversial bile as usual

However given his status as Deputy Leader of the Conservative Party and with a platform that includes not just the House of Commons but also his side-hustle for GB News, why does he want to use language like that? Language that could have got him arrested had he shouted it at an individual in the street within earshot of a police officer. "F*** off back to France" - our politics needs to be better than that.

The language is wrong but the sentiment is right. At the end of the day if they aren’t happy then they have the option to leave and go back to France or Italy or Spain or hell even their home country. I love immigration, I think it’s vital to our countries prosperity and economic future but I also feel like they shouldn’t take a lifeline for granted.

Hear what you say, but she was shadow home secretary, so no worse, no better... and given these days of free speach, why would it get you arrested. You are peacefully protesting

Sorry but completely disagree - housing people in a former floating prison that has been a hazard is not a sustainable way of dealing with the huge backlog of asylum applicants and Lee Anderson and his culture war chums are far from the correct people to be dealing with this situation.

I’m not talking specifics about where they are being housed etc but just in general. This country isn’t perfect but it’s a hell of a lot better than where they’ve come from so whilst they the right to complain if they don’t like the UK I’m sure there are plenty of other countries that would welcome them. But it isn’t just them on the culture war, every side is nowadays. It’s getting to the point where even something as simple as a vest or a wifebeater as it’s called in US is now referred to a Wife-pleaser. It’s utterly ridiculous and is ruining society on every side and in every faction.
