Isn’t there a shared signalling system at Upminster between the District & Overground lines? No, the only thing that’s shared is a set of points to the east of Upminster station. 👍🏾 It is a shame this line cannot be better utilised to have a better service say for example like the Chafford Hundred branch on C2C. Some parts of it is wide enough for double tracking, the biggest problem is 3 bridges that go over the line, the arches underneath is constructed to be for single track.

Well I did not see anything listed as engineering works when I looked on the website or went on the line yesterday, just said shut the weekend. If there is no bus for a bus driver to drive, they are loaned to other garages, or made to do admin work in the office etc. To me I cannot understand the need to recruit loads of customer service roles on the weekend, where some drivers may have even did that job role in the past. a lot of the weekend customer service staff are students, semi-retired people and enthusiasts. Not sure why you would want to take work away from those people. The argument why shouldn't we willingly spend more money from the public purse with wanton disregard at times when the pubic purse is already overstretched is the very same logic and sentiments that will continue to ensure we are royally fecked for a long time in the future. But hell yeah, lets give people a little drink/drug/cigarette money.

The money spent on customer service staff is miniscule compared to the billions the Government has spaffed in recent years on dodgy PPE and Track and Trace contracts. Engineering works are planned, in some cases, a year in advance and train crew rosters would be ammended to reflect that. I think in all of this, it's really important to understand that if you don't work in a particular role/industry, your views on it are taken from mostly incorrect media/social media portrayals from things like the Daily Mail and GB News. Perhaps if you gained a little understanding, and listened to people who actually work in an industry you may understand a little as to why things are done they way they are

The saying look after the pennies and the pounds will look after themselves. If there's money available I would rather it be spent on something that improved the customer experience an has a longer term benefit. You cant change history, but why you promoting a continuatiin of spaffing money? You moan about past spaffing, then promote spaffing. If spaffing suits your agenda it is good, if it doesn't it is bad! The you know nothing attitude it so condescending ... usually used by someone when they know they have lost the argument.

You can say that about every industry in the word though!! To assume this just shows you have a narrow minded view of people and think of them as lowlife. I happen to be working a long CIA shift today, and don't drink, smoke or take drugs. I use it to help my family and save up for bus restoration. Sincerely, f**k you and your selfishness. Not everyone who isnt rich in this world is a benefit claiming uneducated addicted spoilt brat contrary to your beliefs
