Deutsche Bahn has renewed its efforts to find a buyer, or buyers, for its Arriva subsidiary and hopes to have completed the process by the end of 2024. It had started looking for a buyer in 2019 but this was halted by the Covid-19 pandemic. As well as its bus operations in London and elsewhere in the UK, Arriva also operates Chiltern Railways and Cross Country Trains for the Department for Transport, London Overground for Transport for London, and the open-access rail operator Grand Central. Arriva also has operations in 11 other European countries and employs 46,000 people. www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/news/1011046/deutsche-bahn-renews-plans-to-offload-arriva-1011046.html

It is saying something about the condition of Arriva that fellow German infrastructure company DWS decided to buy Stagecoach instead of Arriva. Likewise the consortium led by Kinetic decided to buy Go-Ahead instead of Arriva.
