Apparently the zero emission zone for Central London planned to be introduced in 2030 as part of the Mayor’s Transport Strategy has been abandoned. I wonder what impact that will have on bus operations and whether low emission buses will be able to operate in Central London after 2030 after all. That would save TfL the trouble of replacing all those New Routemaster for London buses?

The New Routemasters surely can't last much longer than the early 2030? they will be ready for the scrapheap by then. If anything it could mean existing smarts hybrids like the Stagecoach example on the 25 could have a more useful longer service life in London.

I would imagine the 87 will be the last route re awarded with LTs in 2025 on a 5 year term. Pretty much everything else will be on its second term by 2025.
