My all time favourite storyline was the feud between Jake the snake Roberts and The model Rick Martel. At one point The Model blinded Jake the Snake with perfume…at the time me and my friends at school thought it was real. Jake was blind then he eventually gained sight in one eye. I’ve just found a video of most of that storyline….they really sold it well, no wonder we believed it at the time: youtu.be/mn716RkULLY?feature=sharedAlso to add…Hulk Hogan body slamming Andre the Giant. Unbelievable! Even to this day knowing that wrestling is fake, that still impresses me. Lots of great Undertaker memories - especially when he put Hulk Hogan in a coffin and it had to be drilled open to release him. Undertaker with Paul Bearer was my favourite wrestler when I was growing up. Running around the playground wrestling each and saying “ooh yessss” whilst pretending to hold an urn 😂😂😂

Like Eddie Guerrero cutting himself after being hit by a chairshot from JBL. Stevie Richards hitting JBL on the head because of the real life issue with Blue Meanie and JBL

Check out Cactus Jack/Mick Foley* can The Undertaker cage match. That was insane!!! Probably the craziest match I’ve ever seen. *Mankind! Just noticed wintersoldier already referenced this match. Same guy (Mick Foley) but as a different character. That match was brutal.

So folks I wanted to create this thread as I feel as though this topic hadn't been discussed much on here. Here goes. I was a die hard wrestling fan back in the day. I missed the days of The Rock, Bret Hart, Stone Cold with his Austin 3:16 quote. ECW, WCW, WWE AND F, AEW and TNA to name a few promotions out there. I reckon WCW would still be around up to this day if they didn't make that reference about Mankind (Mick Foley) winning the championship. The backstage politics with Shawn Michaels and The Rock (which was why them two never had a match against each other). Booker T beating the shxt out of Batista etc etc... What's your fondest memories from the wrestling era. The Attitude era is widely regarded as the best era of wrestling bar none because of the amount of household wrestling names but also the quality of the whole spectacle was at it's peak. Most people I know who watched wrestling will pick a favourite from that era (mine in WWF/WWE was The Rock whilst in WCW, it was probably Booker T). After 2010-2011, I stopped watching it bar one Wrestlemania a couple of years before Covid and boy, has it declined big time Yeah the Attitude era was the best in terms of talent and sheer madness. Shane McMahon was an absolute nutter. Some of his aerial moves were just insane. Looking back he was part wrestler, part stuntman.

Another thing I always remembered was The Rock overselling the stunner. There was one that made me laugh on how he ended up doing a mini handstand. The best people's elbow was the sliding one on Smackdown in 1999

For me, The People’s Elbow was the most entertaining finisher ever. Followed by Scotty 2 Hotty’s Worm.

The last ride or the wars of Jericho. I personally said a submission hold is worse than a finisher.

Jim Ross is the voice of wrestling. Nobody even comes close. For some of us of a certain vintage the late Kent Walton was the voice of wrestling to be heard every Saturday afternoon at 4pm on World of Sport (ITV)...bringing memorable commentaries of wrestling bouts including moves such as "Boston Crabs", "Surfboards" and "Fore-Arm Smashes" delivered by wrestlers such as Mick McManus (New Cross) and 'Big Daddy' (Shirley Crabtree from Halifax). As Kent always ended each show... “Have a good week. . .till next week.”Used to be one of my favourite shows as a child. Giant Haystacks was my favourite. He was an absolute monster.

You can always tap out of a submission move when you reach your pain threshold. With a power move like the Last Ride, you have to take what is coming to you.

You can always tap out of a submission move when you reach your pain threshold. With a power move like the Last Ride, you have to take what is coming to you. Fair play. The only reason why I would say a submission hold is more painful is because even though a finisher can knock a person put, so can a submission hold. Especially if it's a chokehold or something like the crippler crossface. Ankle lock may just damage the legs

Bringing this back. I rewatched a few Chris Benoit matches. Man it pains me that the last few days of his life essentially undid his legacy but those chair shots to the head and bumps he took over the years seriously didn't help him. I honestly wished he called for early retirement back in 2006 when he went on that sabbatical.

If he’d been just a little bigger he’d have been a superstar or if he was in his prime now then he’d be a superstar. Much as people don’t want to admit it, a lot of today’s wrestlers would have looked at Benoit as they grew up and taken stuff from him. But Benoit has rightly been erased from history. Regardless of the fact his brain had been virtually destroyed from his wrestling style he still has to be accountable for his actions on that black weekend In another universe, both he and Eddie Guerrero are still alive and well and coming back for a big pay day every year at Wrestlemania or Summerslam And speaking of Wrestlemania - do you think it’s really coming to London? Having the two big bosses meet with Khan is a big step forward. I’d LOVE to see Wrestlemania at Wembley

Having the two big bosses meet with Khan is a big step forward. I’d LOVE to see Wrestlemania at Wembley I know last year Money in the Bank was in the o2. I saw loads of people queuing up to take their promotional pictures. As for Eddie Guerrero. WM20 (I cannot believe it's been 20 years already) was such an iconic event when they both were champions and hugged in the ring to close the show. Eddie did defeat his demons but unfortunately it wasn't when he passed away a year and a half later. I remembered finding this out and telling people the next day Eddie's dead and they thought I was lying and how wrestling was fake (some parts were). But that was a shock that I don't think Benoit took well at all. Shawn Michaels and The Rock facing each other would have been a match I'd love to have witness but because of Michaels being such a big politician and the things they used to do to people behind the scenes didn't help. Then you had the Chris Jericho and Goldberg fight backstage.
