Some, if not all of the 270's MMC's seem to have had their blinds mis-programmed for the 407. Initially when I snapped 2025 heading to Caterham back in December, the destination blind was set to Carshalton HIGH STREET which at the time I thought was a simple mistake by the driver. However, 2036 drove past me in Whyteleafe on the 407 and it too had its destination blind set to Carshalton High Street! The 197's EH's had something similar when first delivered - the majority of them displayed 403 on the number blind whenever the blinds were set for the 405. I'm not sure if this was ever fixed but it could be the reason why none of EH328-343 ever made it out on the 405 before Arriva took over.

Will the N63 also be operated from WL? And what hybrids would it be allocated with?

Will the N63 also be operated from WL? And what hybrids would it be allocated with? It's been confirmed on the tender thread that the 63 is going to WL, no reason to think the N63 won't follow along. Hybrids were contracted for the N63, so any of the E40H MMCs or even integral E40H could be used.

I wonder if WL will have enough E40Hs to cover the N63, N68 and N381 - plus with rumours of the 45 using LTs if restructured over the 148 routeing? If not, I could perhaps see the N68 move to BC? But it seems the N63 will be run from WL in any case - perhaps these could work off the 196, with Norwood Junction being quite close to Crystal Palace?

It's been stated something has to move out for the 63 coming in. Given the electrics on the 63 won't (initially at least) do the N63, it's only wise that a LT route like the 415 moves over to QB. Thereby the N63, N68 and N381 can all use the 45 & 196 MMCs, but if the 45 goes LT then the spare conventional buses pool gets smaller... The 196's buses can't cover WL's night PVR alone when the N63 goes over. In any case, all normal double deckers are likely to receive new blinds for the arrival of the 63, and I would imagine that includes the 381's E400Hs.

There are 54 Enviro 400H's at WL, 33 of which are MMC. The combined PVR's of the N63, N68 & N381 is 19 - I don't think we need to start rumours of LT's to the 45 to see there would be no issue with the N63 running from WL without anything else changing.

As far as I know, LTs aren't permitted on the N68 due to manoeuvring issues around Old Coulsdon. And the 381's buses are almost 10 years old (hard to believe I know), so Abellio like most companies will likely tend to stick their newer stock on night routes for reliability issues. Having my best friend live in the Bermondsey for a year and the N381 was the route I had to rely on; all I'm going to say is I was happy WL isn't too far from Peckham.

Who knows if the 45 extension did go ahead then it may gain a night service as the 148 is 24h.

Nice to see that at least some of the extras are blinded. 9401 fully blinded on the 689, unfortunately empty as well

8160 has been in an accident down Worton Road, whilst on H20. There’s a smashed window above the side blind and a cracked windscreen.
