Hm will leave a few 17-reg spare from the 427 cut. Hopefully this could be a sign they’re rethinking it?? Remember, the 278 starts in December and the 427's cut is TBC at the moment. As I mentioned before, I would be surprised if the cut happens before the mayoral election. When the 427's cut eventually happens, the spare 17 reg MMCs could always be used on another route. The 414 would be my guess as a home for the MMC's

What are ADL supplying Abellio with for the seven 278 vehicles? Smart hybrids along with the 270, 285 and 482.

Will 2410-13 be refurbished before they start life on the 278?

I really hope the 17-reg MMCs stay at Abellio West London, they're excellent beastly buses which I really love - by far the best thing about Abellio West London is their common user pool. Except from when single door buses appear on the E7 and 195 Last single door on the 195 was almost 4 months ago, when 8233 did 1 and a bit trips in the evening after coming off the H28. The E7 is the only one to worry about at GW

I don't understand why BC insist on continuing service on 8524 and 8526 when they have no use at the garage. 8524 wasnt in service for almost 2 months, with the assumption that it had been withdrawn. Only to be reinstated again? Are these buses spares or to cover buses breaking down?

Many firms/garages tend to keep a bus or two from a withdrawn batch for general spares, especially if the buses are company owned (as opposed to leased) and still mechanically and legally roadworthy.

I’d rather them stay at BC though as they were a good batch of E200’s, well some of them were a bit crap when on the 407 between 2009 and 2015 but they’ve improved them now. The 201’s refurbs are also coming up soon and that should be underway once the 490’s buses are complete, potentially in the new year so they might be also kept as refurb floats.

Rival garage TC have essentially done the same thing with ENL21 which is now the general spare for the 166 and 312, and often makes its way out onto the 627 too

They look awfully dreary and don’t sound too healthy. If BC was short of spares, only one would have been sufficient to stay behind. Plus my assumption is 8843 has gone to TF so they reinstated 8524 so it may well be used on the 130 long term

Keeping a few spares back has been a thing for many years now - it happened when T's & M's were being withdrawn as a few stragglers would hang on at garages sometimes for 1-2 years before being withdrawn and sold. 8502 & 8504 held on at TF until a few months ago despite the rest of the batch having gone ages ago.

I know not strictly related to Abellio, but LVF is now showing DNH39113 as Poppy too, so presumably TT have given it a poppy wrap.

I must say, the MMCs and LTs look really nice with the poppy wrap.
