As well as tbe 482’s MMCs the first few of what are presumably the Caetano ECities have appears on LVF too 1500 BV69KTP 1501 BV69KTT 1502 BV69KTU 1503 BV69KTX Nice to see that the e.City golds have the BV registrations but not the 20reg number plate It’s likely they will get re-registered as 20reg

Even if they do it’s only the first four. What makes me think they will be kept is that I don’t think the LVF admin people would have put them on if they were going to be Changed for 20s, like the new 25 MMCs.

I would assume so, followed by the 285. More double decks for their Rail replacement work ! I saw LT984 (TF) on the TfL rail work in Stratford last weekend. Strange , hectic territory for that bus and its driver Even more so when you see buses with Abellio livery doing the RRPs, I recall once seeing a 56-reg Enviro 400 on RRP duties in Stratford which seemed very odd indeed.

Will 2410 ever make its way to the 278?
I would think it’s needed more than ever now because of one of its MMCs being VOR. Of its 11 buses two now aren’t running on it, now less than the size of its PVR 🤔

Thanks to busoccultation and SILENCED telling me how to tell if a bus is registered, the four Caetano E.Cities with 69-regs are registered and taxed in the DVLA website, so looks like they’ll be keeping their 69-plates. Nothing after BV69KTX appears though so it looks these will be the only four with 69s. RATP’s LJ69YYA/YYB are also registered and taxed too so will also be keeping their plates.

So not all that many 69-plate buses in London (there were some half years where there was 500+ buses) I know, not many 69s at all. Still, there’s more than there are 63 plates.* It’s probably a combination of not having many contract renewals during the 69-period, and the ones that were were mostly with existing vehicles. I don’t have a problem with that though, I think it’s good to utilise existing assets, plus most buses from the 2011/12 periods I prefer to some of the brand new models (ahem G3’s and EvoSetis) so it’s good to still see them around for a while longer. It was always going to happen though, in 2011/12 which I suspect is the time you’re referring too, nearly everything was bought new, mostly down to all the bendy buses that needed replacing. Seeing as buses aren’t life expired after 5/7/8 years it made sense they would do a second term. So by the time these contracts came back round again in 2016/17/18/19 everything was just renewed with those rather than buying new. Also combine this with TfL looking to reduce tender prices, existing vehicles can be cheaper than buying new. There are also a lot of new buses from around 2014/15/16 because nearly all central London routes up for tender in that time were being renewed with new hybrids in preparation for the ULEZ. *The only reason there’s hardly any 63-plates is that this is when the NB4L was being introduced rapidly, so most contracts were renewed with those vehicles, and obviously these vehicles don’t have year periods on them, meaning not many conventionals were bought in during this period giving them actual 63 plates.

Looks as though 2501 is the latest 109 MMC to go for refurb, it hasn’t been used since Feb 14th

Sorry to bang on about this again but 2410 hasn’t been in service for four days now. Hopefully this is its transfer to WS!!!
Would love to see a picture of the ECity, can’t wait to get a ride on one!! I have to say the lack of spares they’ve ordered concerns me. For a total PVR of 31 (C10 22 + P5 9) they’ve only got three spares. This is okay for a standard diesel/hybrid route, but no other compliant buses can work the route so they’ll lose a lot of mileage if they’re unreliable and they’re ever struggling for vehicle availability. This model is so far unproven so we don’t know how good or bad they’ll be. The 214 has three spares for a PVR of just 19. The 46 has four!
