I would imagine it’s a very bitter RATP bearing in mind the route has been a dog to run for the past 2 years whilst Hounslow Council oversaw reconstruction of Feltham Railway bridge that made the Channel Tunnel construction seem a doddle in comparison. They done a great job for the past few years with significant increases in patronage too. Tendering is brutal now, Life goes on however.... Those 15 reg B5LHs were super quick too. I have some good memories of thrash while taking the N285. I don’t think the Smarts will be as quick having been on the 482. Nonetheless I wish Abellio the best of luck with the route. At least it’s stopped RATP from operating all TfL routes that stand at Cromwell Road Bus Station. The batch of 285 buses I miss was it’s 51 reg branded DPS’s - had some great rides on them from Kingston to Heathrow

Fully blinded. 9410 is there as well doing route learning. I can't wait to go on these, it's a shame though that the 285 is leaving RATP after 19 years of service. However, wish Abellio a good 5/7years of service. I agree with all of that. Am looking forward to seeing Abellio double decker routes in Kingston for the first time.

Saw a few of those Caetanos on the P5 yesterday when I went out for a walk, they look really impressive. Look forward to riding one. I also am told there's a hydrogen demonstrator version coming to London later this year, look forward to seeing it.

Do the new Caetanos have USBs? I thought all new buses were getting them now?

There is already a right hand drive demonstrator, appeared at a bus expo, could be this one that will appear caetanobus.pt/en/esta-ai-o-h2-city-gold-o-novo-autocarro-caetano-a-hidrogenio/

I drove one on rail replacement. The blindbox was hard work. Winding it through 80 odd destinations to get an appropriate display took about 20 minutes thanks to a combination of very large lines and an extremely stiff mechanism. I didn't envy the person who would have to wind it back to the 285 displays. Had a very similar DE on the C1 - heavily derated and a boneshaker. Quite gladly got rid after one trip in favour of a 51-reg DPs which was absolutely lovely in comparison.
