20 of them are off to go ahead London Why do they need 20 when the PVR of the 469/B12 is only 16? And they have buses from the 246 available before they buy anything else? They could send the 246’s buses to the 359 if they don’t go to the 469 or B12? They can easily replace the current E200’s and be compliant for another contract potentially

It’s been confirmed that the 469/B12 will be allocated MMCs, so likely there are other plans for the Ex-246 batch. Also generally operators purchase the whole batch so they may purchase the whole batch with the remainder heading to another route within GAL.

Let's hope Go Ahead also keep an eye on the short SDs Abellio could return if they don't win anything for potential go ahead wins/returns of the 315 and the 463.

Is the plan to withdraw the remainder of the 2006-7 Enviro400s 9401-9427 once the remaining smart hybrids arrive, as they are now concentrated on 270 and 285 ? I wouldn't be surprised if they stuck around a little bit longer, at least until the C3 goes in October..which then runs into the query as to where those E40Hs will be allocated next.

Just seen Abellio operating the 285. One driver of the 285 overshot the bus stop by a significant amount but other than that seemed like a normal operation. None of the ADEs have London United logos.

When leased buses are returned, the leaseCo makes a commercial decision regarding leasing them out again or selling them. In current climate with Operators cutting routes, and some going bust, thus dumping extra buses on the used market. Probably wanted to offload whole batch so priced accordingly (sort of like buy 16 and get 4 free). Joking aside, probably better to have all rather than not take a couple

20 of them are off to go ahead London Ah yes I knew it all the long that GAL will purchase them for 469 and B12, hopefully GAL can spend money on a proper refurbishment because I would be disappointed to see grey and red There is no requirement to do a "proper refurbishment" - all that is required is to a simple refurbishment usually a clean up and a change of moquette although some operators change the floor, lighting or seats. Prepare yourself to be disappointed because I don't expect Go-Ahead to be removing anything other than moquette.

Joking aside, probably better to have all rather than not take a couple I guess some of the lease cos aren't really set up to sell individual buses, so when they dispose of buses they tend to flog the whole batch in one go. Typically the batch would be bought by a dealer who would then resell individual buses, but if an operator can buy the whole batch they can cut out the middleman and probably save a bit of money. Depends on the lease co of course, some (like Dawsonrentals) have/had their own in-house sales operation.

TF do tend to use their buses on mix of routes, so might look at testing some other routes (even if not a short term plan to use them). Also have to work out practicalities of installing chargers. How many etc. Can you add more. What about parking if plugged in. Bigger batches of buses may get bigger discounts. Quite a lot to factor in to appraisal
