it is funny because it has a massive sign on the dash saying "NOT FOR ROUTES 196/344" If it's a €6 bus, whats the problem? In theory there shouldnt be a problem its just typical odd TFL rules… diesels arent permitted to do regular TFL routes in service that enter the original Central London congestion zone, routes like 36 & 170 are allowed since they dont enter it, but others like 344 arent allowed, as its a violation of its hybrid contract the route was tendered with me personally the rule doesnt have much sense anymore due to ULEZ having expanded across London and diesels on RRP & the Open Top Tour routes are allowed in the congestion zone… but I doubt that rule willl change anyways

Never made any sense to me.

The OCD part of me is know really disappointed that the QB allocations have now gone to the dogs QB used to have I’d say some of the tidiest allocations in all of London, SL14s/SN64s on the 156/345, YX15s and YY16s on the 344, SN18s on the 196, and LV73s on the C3. Also back in the day SN59s/SN12s on the 414 and the LJ09 diesels strictly on the 345/C3 too. Now it’s just anything and everything, I know it’s good for operational convenience but tbh it disappoints me knowing how tidy they used to be 😆 I'm guessing with charging point infrastructures now in place it's harder to arrange batches in their ideal spots for the morning runouts. I personally don't mind the general mixture as it mean the 156 now gets regular mixtures of my favourite TUK fleet...the 14/64 reg E40Hs and their MMC variants

Its been on the 196 the last couple of days which also runs into the zone Surely at this point some of these companies are probably thinking fcxk it. They'll rather eat the charge with putting a diesel in the zone than have no service. Question is which fine would be greater? The fact that it's going into the zone should give your answer. Failure to operate scheduled mileage because of issues under the operator's control could ultimately lead to the loss of the contract.

And even funnier they literally have ONE diesel Enviro400 left and they still can’t stop these strays Very common on the C2 buses when they use to run
