Thurrock Council are of course one of several councils that have gone effectively bankrupt, and Kent has been mentioned negatively here as regards transport several times recently. Sadly, I think the Tilbury - Gravesend ferry is done for.

Suppose it's only fair , Thurrock pays their share , but as it's only public transport crossing available east of Woolwich the only other option will be the X80 which doesn't run at times of disruption 🤷🏿♂️ not good for people going either way across and suppose the 99 will cease to run also , incompetent council gambling effectively people's money and the mere peasants have to pay a price it's absolutely shocking

Would sadly imagine all supported routes will be gone before too long.

So east of tower bridge you are screwed If you are public transporting/walking, there’s still a goodly number of crossings east of Tower Bridge up to Woolwich (and effectively easy access to Abbey Wood as well). East of there is very sparse, and will be effectively down to Ensignbus’ X80 and the very premium link from Stratford International to Ebbsfleet on Southeastern Highspeed if the ferry goes. There was talk of Thames/Uber Clippers going to Gravesend but that has gone very quiet recently.
