As I have been saying a few time, my lovely council in the Royal Borough of Greenwich surreptitiously decided to publish the results of the east and west Greenwich LTNs
Maybe we should thank our feudal lords that they listened to the chaos post the Streatham LTNs so the Greenwich LTNs are only from 7-10am and 4-7pm on weekdays
But this does imply that there are NO through roads north-south between Greenwich South Street and the A102!!!!!

There’s a lot of this colour coding non-sense. There will be 5 coloured zones in west Greenwich and 7 in the east (looks like I will have to carry an A3 sized colour print now onwards!). The council has also chosen to block off one side of a private road (Langton way) in their high-handedness; those guys were consulted on an afterthought (have a friend who lives there - they were only consulted at a later stage; unfortunately while almost everyone opposed we all know the councils don’t listen!)
Unsurprisingly an overwhelming majority were against these proposals but they are still going ahead. The consultation process was quite poor as initially only people living inside the zones were consulted; no consideration for people working inside those zones or commuting through them! Emergency services were consulted after the survey closed, schools etc weren’t consulted and so on. The area is also very hilly, so a quiet F*** off to elderly people. More greenwashing, hope some councillors lose their seats next time (this is one place where I am 200% sure I am voting conservative!!!)
The Charlton residents are very annoyed as it means more people ratrunnjng through their roads
These LTNs will result in some very convoluted road journeys all involving the A206 and A102 which will shoulder the combined weight of the (money sucking) Blackwall and Silvertown tunnels
Meanwhile those cycle lanes on the A206 are absolutely empty, especially in the weather we have been getting recently
Interesting times ahead
