Angela Rayner has officially been cleared of any wrongdoing today regarding the sale of her council house, so seems to have been a load of hysteria caused by Conservative MPs who wanted a desperate win. But it'll probably not all go swimmingly for them as it's widely speculated that Abbott is stepping down as an MP now after effectively being barred as a candidate from her constituency. To clarify she was cleared by GMP despite evidence and statements from her neighbours. Their statement made it clear that they had passed their findings onto the local council and HMRC. It could still come back around on her if both decided to do further investigations. I believe all parties involved said that they are no longer continuing with the investigation.

Diane Abbott has had the whip restored and is now a Labour MP again. However there is some confusion about whether she is permitted to stand again, with Abbott herself currently claiming she is 'barred' from standing as a Labour candidate at the forthcoming election. Although she is a pain in the proverbial, she is a trailblazing pain - the first-ever Black woman MP in the House of Commons - and her career should be allowed to end with more dignity. Well she has only has herself to blame. If it were other people you would not be saying the same. People mainly remember the bad you do in life, she has been flushing her own life down the toilet over the past 10 years; time expired and should have gone years ago.

And there is no shortage of room for new homes, not every new home has to go into Lewisham. But look at the amount of available land around Orpington, Knockholt & Biggin Hill etc. A lot of the Orpington hinterland is Green Belt land, and poorly linked to the rail network. There are plenty of Brownfield sites within existing built-up areas than can be used as well. Interestingly, nine councils in the outer part of East and South-East London have formed a lobbying group, called Local London, which has called for a review of transport options in the area. The councils, which politically are cross-party, argue that the area has seen significant demographic change and population growth, more than other parts of London or nationally, and the transport options in the area have not kept pace. www.ianvisits.co.uk/articles/local-councils-push-for-transport-expansion-elizabeth-and-bakerloo-lines-under-review-72575/One of the major problems is lack of river crossings, there needs to be two more built between Blackwall and Dartford. A road between Blackhorse Lane and Watermead Way cutting through the reservoir. A road linking Armada Way to River Road without having to come back up to the A13 A proper junction at the Ilford exit of A406 and get rid of the cheap design that has traffic double banking on itself which creates gridlock. Victoria line extended to Chelmsford via Ongar and takeover the Epping branch of Central line from Leytonstone. I would go as far as also say the Bakerloo line extended past Lewisham to Bluewater

No, I don’t think she should have a dignified end. She was guilty of being antisemitic which is a form of racism, the very thing she had been campaigning against, specifically against her own race. She should practice what she preaches but sadly, there are a minority out there who like to give out about it when they receive racial abuse but then find it ok to do similar to other races. Now let’s imagine she was a different race for a moment - would she be getting calls to have a dignified end?

The latest poll from Sky News makes very dire reading for the Tories
Needs to be taken with a pinch of salt, but looks like the gap between the Tories and Labour is widening in Labour's favour as opposed to narrowing like many Tories may have hoped. If the results are even near as bad as that poll it would make the Liberal Democrats the opposition and could be the end of the Conservative Party for multiple generations.

A big pinch of salt coming from a champagne socialist Vorderman. Even by that figure there, how on earth could Lib Dems be the official opposition when there figures are HALF of what the Conservatives have

It's the whole point, the figures should not be that bad at all.

Totally, there is more the 21 safe Tory seats around the country. Probably closer to 100 I'd say if not even 200. Dividing a poll off say 1000 people doesn't automatically mean let's say 43% won't necessarily equal 43% of the total seats.

www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/universities-uk-rishi-sunak-higher-education-prime-minister-britain-b1160821.htmlForgive me if this has already been mentioned further up but I think this a fantastic policy from Sunak, at least someone has finally had the guts to call this nonsense out for what it is. These days there seem to be degrees in just about anything and everything, people who study some of these courses never get anywhere near paying off their student loan and thus end up costing the taxpayer obscene amounts of money. I have a good friend who dropped out of a film-making degree at a young university to do an apprenticeship and said it was the best decision they ever made, these degrees are little more than money-making for greedy universities. To be clear, problems with higher education in this country and far deeper and wider this, I speak to people who work in the sector about this a lot. New Labour's policy of getting 50% of young people has been particularly disastrous from what I gather.

Some of the institutions claiming to be "universities" in this country makes that word virtually meaningless now.

Although you're probably going to bankrupt a lot of Universities in the process and also make a load of people unemployed as well. At the same time you are stopping the younger generation being saddled with massive amounts of debt when the course they are studying will offer little benefit to them. In my eyes, this would only be a good move for those individuals. Just means universities will have to adapt and offer courses that are a greater benefit to those taking them. It doesn't mean universities will lose students, just they will be required to offer a better product. Higher education in the UK is long overdue a massive overhaul.
