The last government battered the prison system and left behind very soft sentencing guidelines. Unforgivable and it takes time to change - and boy does it need changing. I’m glad this guy is locked up, but it is too short a sentence. The fact he’ll also be able to drive once leaving jail 7 years down the line is preposterous, these types of crimes should come with lifetime driving bans. It’s a privilege not a right to drive on the roads, imo. Most importantly, sending my thoughts to Ada’s family and friends. Can’t begin to imagine what they’ve gone through

Maybe down to corrupt lawyers knowing how to play the system. The way things are in this country, he probably would only serve 18 months. Should have got 400 years imo

Labour made the prison system a joke under Blair, that is where it all went wrong. All the do gooders moaned, we had many of the light sentencing then which has not changed much over the years. There were too much things that people got let off for, the only thing this country really punished people for is high monetary crimes, lives has no value when it comes to prison sentencing. You could steal £5 million and would be sentenced for 30 years. Kill someone, you would get 5-10 years. Also note the guy had smoked weed the night before, the very same drug that Khan wants the government to turn a blind eye to.

Weed is not the problem here, it is the fact someone still turned up to work high. That would be a problem if the individual was drunk and had not sobered up.

It is a problem when you have people like Khan making it to be friendly as he represents TfL. Society sees it as nothing wrong and it is ok, but this is an exhibit A of the reasons why Cannabis is a lot more dangerous than people think it is.

So surely by the same logic, drivers shouldn't be allowed to drink alcohol at all seeing as tbe dangers of both are near enough identical.

The main cause was the driver fell asleep after a blunt. A driver may have had one pint the day before and next day not fall asleep and be intoxicated because of drinking alcohol.

Cannabis is just as 'normal' as the other two drugs you list, all three are very harmful.
