For some odd reason, 14’s (& possibly 37’s I don’t really use that route) are being forced to curtail at Lytton Grove. There is a ‘bus stop closed’ sign on the Green Man stands but that’s literally there for no reason & curtailed 39’s, 85’s & 93’s still use it. Does anyone have an explanation for why this is happening? I’m local to that bus stand & seen no real issues with it until this is now happening.

I'm guessing that it's due to congestion on the stand and difficulty in setting passengers down safely? It can get congested especially with additional curtailed buses from other routes. Not very satisfactory for passengers who get turfed off a stop earlier though.

Someone explained this the other day, I think on the GAL thread. Basically it seems likes TfL no longer want passengers alighting at certain “bus stations” due to the stands. I expect TfL may install an alighting point just outside the stands for 39/93 curtailments eventually. The 85 will probably alight at Lytton Grove to at some point.

Also where is the 424's last stop?

So is the 14 being permanently cutback to Lytton Grove? Honestly I don’t see any good reason as to why tfl are preventing people from alighting at bus stations just seems very inconvenient for no reason. Also are there other bus stations where this is occuring?

I asked about this the other day on the General Disccusion thread, here's what towertransit70 said:
For the 14, it’s 100%true since I drive the route. We leave the passengers at Lytton grove nowadays because of how TFL perceive bus big bus stands where there are multiple buses parked. I think they want to avoid another case of Victoria and to reduce casualties at bus stands such as Green Man. Plus they’re sorting out the lights at the bus stand. So it might just be temporarily or might be permenant.

It’s Health & Safety gone mad - if it’s because of the Victoria incidents, the Green Man stand isn’t anyway comparable. The better way would of been to keep the 14 going to the Green Man and curtail the 37 temporarily at Putney until they sort it out but they removed the 37’s old stand

I can now see the 414 withdrawal being delayed partially because of this stand issue.

One solution that has been suggested on here before would be to curtail the 14 at AF when the frequency is increased and extend the lower frequency 74 to Putney Heath.
Whilst I can understand the safety concerns there has to be a better solution than just turfing everyone off at the previous stop.

Surely a solution could be to add a Putney Hill/Green Man stop southbound to match the northbound one (where the 14 first interchanges with the 39/93 etc) and make that the last stop for the 14/37 and then proceed to the stand out of service.

I don't understand this, passengers alight on a pavement at the green man and walk a few yards back to the main pavement. Wheres the problem

I don't understand this, passengers alight on a pavement at the green man and walk a few yards back to the main pavement. Wheres the problem That's what should happen but at busy times there are buses left on the alighting point and incoming buses have to let people off in the roadway hence the potential for accidents.
