From Monday 18th November until Friday 20th December, New Road Hill is closed due to SGN gas works. Route 146 will terminate at Keston Church stop KH and will not serve Downe.
Temporary minibus route 546 will operate between Keston Church and Downe via an alternative route, connecting with route 146. This route is reported to be operated by EnsignBus and on Tuesday 19th a Mercedes Sprinter 54141 (WUI 7786) was observed at Keston Church. This vehicle was previously with First Leicester and was previously used on the Aircoach service to Birmingham Airport which was recently discontinued.

New Mercedes Sprinter buses aka the Breadvan ordered for TfL routes is definitely a scenario in a hypothetical world.  |

The diversion route is via Shire Lane and North End Lane in both directions. The timetable is apparently quite tight and care has to be taken at times not to meet the R8 coming the other way. The 146 does not wait at Keston for the 546 if it is delayed, although the 246 and 320 offer alternatives from Keston Church. The service is free and operated by local arrangement, hence not appearing online. The service is operated by EnsignBus using former First Leicester Aircoach Mercedes Sprinters. |
