There probably isn't one 'the best', but the Nottingham operators here certainly deserve credits.
NCT have a very modern fleet of Scanias and Tridents, a network of 15 trunk and supplementary routes totalling about 100. All trunk routes run with at least 6 bph and supplementary routes (2-3 per trunk route) every 20 or 30 minutes. AFAIK NCT have a good timekeeping record.
Trent Barton already have an all low-floor fleet. In Nottingham they operate 5 high-frequency Rainbow routes and several other connections to satellite towns/villages at 15/20-min frequencies. Most drivers are very friendly though their timetables are too tight resulting in poorish timekeeping.

Didn't NCT win the award for 'Best Bus Operator of the Year' recently?

Hey, don't call the Wright/Scania rubbish. As far as I see Scania provide decent chassis and engines and Wright decent bodies, in fact far superior to the Dart/Pointer.

You have to be kidding. I will list the problems i can see with the Scania's in Swindon.
-Awful ride nearer to the back
-Sounds like a tractor when still and has a screechy engine when on the move
-Lots of empty spaces where you know there would be a seat on a Dart SLF/SPD.

And the bus rightfully is more powerful than the Dart. That depends on the operator's configuration. Trent Barton's Dart and Scania pretty much have the same interior layout.

The P-reg darts sound much more powerful. You have do remember the argument here is about Thamesdowns Scanias and not other companys.Scanias are not suited to Swindon ,they can barely fit round the corners on the route they operate on (1/1A) They scrape the kurb all the time. Also they recently trialed a Omnilink and a Man Kinetic which looked to be better. londonbuspics.fotopic.net/c1170734.htmlmrstuartcurwen436.fotopic.net/p37855235.html
