Are operators allowed to run 'normal' buses on NBFL routes? Stagecoach often run Scanias and E400Hs on the 8. I thought they weren't allowed to do that? Stagecoach are down one or two buses due to incidents, same goes for Metroline, Go Ahead London and Arriva. London United somehow seems to be an exception to this

The fact that "normal" buses do run shows that there is not an issue. As Eastlondoner62 has said there are buses off the road because of accident damage. Further if buses need to be modified or checked over then it is much better that a bus of any sensible type runs rather than there being gaps in the service. It also avoids the bus company having staff sitting around doing nothing and being penalised for non operation of a journey.

Are operators allowed to run 'normal' buses on NBFL routes? As opposed to having no bus at all the answer is yes. The same had been done on bendybus route 436 a few years back where a PVL was once used.

Nothing to do with the bus stop is it? It's down to litter management and street cleaning. That's a local authority issue so complain to whichever council the stop is located in. There may also be a need for a litter bin to be located at or near the stop to reduce litter dropping. If the council don't respond then contact a local councillor to get something done - that's what they're for.

The problem is there's like at least two bins near the stop and there is still litter on the floor and behind the bus shelter there is bushes and trees which is fenced off and there is litter around the trees and bushes and Where there is litter there is vermin i.e rats and the problem is that this stop is very busy with passengers. I hate waiting at this stop because of the Vermin and litter.

Say you're on a bus which gets curtailed mid-route, and the driver plays the announcement to see him for a transfer voucher. If the vouchers expire within an hour, and it takes longer than an hour for the bus to reach its curtailment point, are you entitled to another? Supposedly if other passengers who do not qualify see that you do, they would start whinging and then the driver would get a lot of stick.

I had always assumed that the transfer voucher was offered/requested at the curtailment point. Surely if the first bus that comes along is displaying an intermediate destination and you wish to go further than that, you let that bus go and wait for a bus working the full route.

Hello all, I'm new to the forum, but not new to London Buses, been an enthusiast since I can remember, based in the Arriva operational area of Edmonton/Enfield Borough. One thing i wanted to ask, why are we the only city in the world to curtail buses midway along the route? If we're not enlighten me. I understand it could be a few factors, bad scheduling, mechanical issues (inevitable) or other non-deductable causes such as ill passenger, RTC etc, but still why is it acceptable? Imagine if Sainsburys trucks got curtailed due to M25 traffic Thanks

Looking back at the history of the 33 on LVF, it shows a number of odd workings over the years, the most surprising being VA71 back in 2013. However looking at the time it was out, it seemed to have only gone up to barnes. Looking further it shows an HDE that was out for a whole day. How did this bus get over Hammersmith bridge since HDE's go over the limit?

How did this bus get over Hammersmith bridge since HDE's go over the limit? The HDE could of done Barnes to Fulwell that day. As for the VA, I remember that working - I think it only made it to Richmond in the end due to traffic but was originally meant to go to Barnes
