It got a bunch of investors unfairly excited ... I knew it straight away that it was a scam. .. Even Before the last paragraph was added ... But others did not.

Do bus drivers/operators get 'told off' if they are displaying the wrong destination on a bus? I've been on so many buses in the past where it's displaying the previous destination (going in the other direction). I usually tell the driver but i've encountered a few who have just grunted or simply said "i know". Is this something you should notify the driver of? I only used to do it as I thought the operator could get into trouble or fined or something. Is there anything that happens or is it pointless telling the driver?

From my personal experience I was simply told to correct my blinds and heard nothing about it again. I would guess it depends on who witnesses the error. There can be a huge difference in outcome between a polite passenger simply informing the driver...or an angry passenger complaining to the driver/company after travelling in the wrong direction.

I think the main reason you should do it is to benefit other passengers/commuters.

I used to appreciate people telling me I was showing the wrong destination, though I did notice that eventually the conversations was: Passenger: "Are you going to Bow Church?" Me: "I am yes" Passenger: "You're still showing Paddington" Me: "D'oh! Thank you" Some drivers are just plain rude however and don't appreciate any interaction with people at all and let's face it, if they know they're showing the wrong destination why haven't they changed it? Just saying....

Does anyone know the rules/procedure for leaving a NB4L?
I used a route 9 a couple of times last week and all 3 times I left my seat as the bus leaves (for example) bus stop A. Bus is moving and I want to get off at Stop B.
I stand on the platform as the bus travels to stop B where I want to get off.
Now never had a problem doing this with RMs/RMLs back in the day, never had a problem doing this with Metroline on the 24 but everyday I have had a CA from LU ask to me to move inside. Twice I have argued that I wont and the third I did as someone else was coming down the stairs so I moved well clear. One of The CAs was quite aggressive and three times poked me in the back to get my attention which I did not appreciate....
I would have thought it is the same as if I board or get off away from a stop - cover their arse by telling me it is not safe etc not keep people away from the platform who may be leaving either at a stop or (if as the bus was created for) I get off away from a stop as it may be stopped in traffic.

This has been happening since LT1-8 were introduced into service, I've been told on a few occasions not to stand on the open platform so rather than bother arguing with the platform security guards, I just get off through the middle doors.

I read something the other day about the "rules" for using the rear platform - might have been a FOI request and the TfL reply. The essence is that people can get on or off via the rear platform if it is safe to do so and staff should not physically obstruct passengers. I have seen and experienced the "not allowed on the rear platform" issue several times and think it is ridiculous given what was permitted on RMs. Having been "told off" like a little child on a 24 I resolved not to bother coming down the rear stairs to the platform until the bus has stopped. So much for reducing dwell times - not! As for being poked in the back - I'm afraid that would be an instant complaint to TfL. That is completely uncalled for and cannot be within any interpretation of the rule book. That "customer assistant" should be sacked for doing that. Can you imagine what would ensue if the roles were reversed and you had poked the customer assistant three times? You'd have been hauled off the bus by the police for staff assault.

What actually happens if an oyster reader isn't working on a bus? Was on an ENL today on the 166 and the reader wasn't working so the driver waved everybody on. What happens if a ticket inspector gets on? Not that i'm that bothered but with the daily price cap, people will then have to board another bus to reach that price cap. Do TFL refund this? I'm not actually bothered personally, merely intrigued as there were so many people getting on that bus and unable to touch in. Is the bus still allowed to be in service?

Usually it's not working due to a module error. Either not signed on or corrupt as happens when you drop them. What happens well not really a lot if an inspector gets on we'll probably get told off. The garage will usually try to get either a module out or the bus subbed ASAP. It don't really affect price caps as you don't pay more than required to get anything back. Day cap is £4.40 it takes 4 buses to reach that with the 4th taking 5p if you don't use that last bus then you've saved yourself 5p. What actually happens if an oyster reader isn't working on a bus? Dropped my fair share of modules too! OP: If the oyster reader crashes - and it does happen - the same applies.

Are operators allowed to run 'normal' buses on NBFL routes? Stagecoach often run Scanias and E400Hs on the 8. I thought they weren't allowed to do that?
