They've finally done something with this bus! It spent 6 weeks parked up on the wall of EW blinded from the N5 (Could be seen from the bus station). EW don't seem to have been fond of the VW - Most chances they get they put a couple of TEs/TEHs or a VMH on the 292 and they've already got rid of VW1204/1205. I noticed VW1208 being towed back into EW as well yesterday, VW1202 has also been missing since 12/10.

I am not familiar with allocations at EW They were supposed to be getting more for the 240, There will be 10 additional VMHs spare when everything is allocated so I wonder if we may see VMHs, is a possibility, there also is 60 reg TEHs and61 reg TEHs from the 266 and 271 possibly coming up for the 240/292.

I think Metroline may have offered newer vehicles to ward of competiton. They can easily squeeze another five years out of the TEHs on a route which has recently begun a new contract under them - the 240 being a prime example of this.

The 240 I do not see as an example, its allocation isn't staying: The BDEs will soon be all out by the looks of things which frees up enough buses (VWH, Mrk 1) to complete the 271s allocation, I can see the 60 reg going back to EW for the 240 as the contract began before the 271s and those 60 reg were just about compliant then. As for the 292s buses missing, they may just be loans or that could be where the 10 extra VMHs end up in the long run.

The HT VWHs that are currently at AC they should come back for the 271 if the TEHs are going to EW AC have VWs from the W7 on loan not VWHs, I can see the VWHs staying at AC for the 460 the 5 odd VWH (Mrk 2) at HT should go back when the VWs return and that should make the allocation up. Personally I see the VWHs staying at PB as doing a count up of the buses at AC, HT and PB and what their allocated to it would appear AC have enough for all their routes and the 460 when the VWHs return. HT have enough Mrk 2 buses to fill the 271s allocation too which means PB could end up displacing the older 08/58 reg with the VWHs.

The 240 I do not see as an example, its allocation isn't staying: That was exactly the point I was making. The 240 will be an example of getting an allocation of nine year old buses because it is a Metroline route for the next five years at least so Metroline can use the TEHs, thus alleviating the need to upgrade some of the oldest TEs at EW, sadly that will include old TE715.

Ah I thought you were stating the 271 should keep the TEHs? It'd probably be better to keep the 60/61 reg TEHs at EW with the 271 going fully VWH at HT lot less movements and keeps the amount of types down and the 240 is running on an older contract. On a related note, Metroline change their mind every 5 seconds so plans may change by contract renewal.
