Has anyone heard a rumour that Stagecoach are buying Eastbourne Buses? If so, can someone let us know? Also, if true, it would fit in nicely with their Stagecoach South operation.

Also it was reported by a bus driver who said the news is posted on the noticeboard at his garage.

Seems that it is almost a done deal with Stagecoach. ;D Had it occured to you that the reason Stagecoach wish to buy Eastbourne Buses is to enhance the existing allegedly inadequate services they currently provide, and this will give them the base from which to improve them?

possibly. Stagecoach do have a couple of routes in the area, 2 from the hastings 'silverhill' depot, routes 98 and 99 from memory, but this was some years ago, may have different numbers now. I know this as my parents have a caravan just outside hastings and up until a few years back i used to go down there quite a few times a year!
Now i just about manage 1 weekend a year!! lol

In other words, Stagecoach did a little bit of brown nosing? ;D Well it had something to do with the MP for Eastbourne (he is a Tory) who wanted badly for Stagecoach to win the bidding, yet everyone seems to have wanted Go-Ahead (who would have been my choice as well) to get it.
