Thanks, and is this the only E400 that's 10.8m? No, wasn't the first set of E400 for ELBG at [TB] which I think some are now driver trainers; they were also to the longer length. After all orders were to the short wheelbase standard London length.

Thanks, and is this the only E400 that's 10.8m? 19000 and the 19131-19140 batch were the only 10.8m batch of E400's new to London.

Stagecoach London take over the operation of the DL6 (Barking to Tower Gateway) from 21st August. Its a shame 19000 wont be able to be used on this route like it was back in 2015 - pic Are the rail replacement routes tendered like normal routes? How long do contracts usually run for? Thanks! Noticed Stagecoach taking on more rail work lately. Normally 1 year. Then the main contractor who wins the tender and sub-contract part or all of the work to other operators.

Noticed Stagecoach taking on more rail work lately. They follow a similar tendering process to normal routes, but with much shorter timescales than the bus network. Contracts are awarded for a specific route and any repeat iterations for a year. If the closure limits change then it has to be tendered as another route. So some lines have many different routes in place and some like the NLL it’s not unknown to have two operators running different routes on the same day - like Metroline running Camden Road to Gunnersbury all datly then Abellio running the evening Stratford to Richmond trips. Until last year the show was dominated by Abellio and Metroline. But Arriva and Stagecoach deciding to take on more work has really shaken things up. At one point Go-Ahead were planning to bid for routes too which definitely would increase competition with Abellio in particular as they have garages around the corner from their three South London depots - but it seems for now they prefer to send the spare London buses to cover jobs in deepest Kent and Sussex instead. If the parent company ceases to run the Southern and Southeastern routes that could all change. Ultimately it is all a collaborative effort as on busy weekends the operators help each other out.

If it is not a silly question, how can you have competitive tender and collaborative effort, they are opposites They collaborating could all agree not to bid below certain price, which is normally called a cartel

The DLR rail replacement between Beckton and Poplar has been very busy today. I have seem some extremely overloaded buses! I don't think the service is that frequent?

Some interesting routes coming up on the light rail networks.
The Lewisham branch is seeing a rare closure. The usual Westferry to Island Gardens route is running - and unusually a Lewisham - Cutty Sark - Canada Water service is on. It has been years since the Lewisham section has has a replacement bus service. Normally between the 47, 180/199 and 188 people find their own ways around.
Then there’s the Tramlink - much of it will be shut. There may be a fair amount of 10mph running and a lot of waiting around all weekend between Lloyd Park and New Addington. On Tuesday evening there will be a New Addington to Wimbledon replacement bus service.

Per LVF I see the Lewisham service is in the hands of HCT single-deckers (no idea if there are any subcontractors). Interesting to see HCT running a service entirely south of the river. Not sure why it is single-deck though. I can't think of any restrictions on the route offhand.

And I’ve just realised I’ve fully got the journey from hell today travelling from Lewisham to St Albans way. If no trains at Lewisham the DLR to Greenwich is usually the fallback option. Then the Thameslink is down with the notorious St Pancras to Mill Hill service running - I think just this once I’m taking an Uber

Who operates it and what's the allocation?
