A year and a half ago I would have probably disagreed with you especially regarding the company's early TAs, which I thought at the time were well-looked after mechanically (not cosmetically as they were in the process of painting them from dodgy pink). How things change Today I see the majority of them spewing out black smoke It's as if Cricklewood gave up on them after they got more cast-off TAs from Perivale (ex-Harrow Weald) and the rest of the batch came back off loan from Selkent (iBus floats); those ones weren't in the best condition either And don't get me started on the Pointer Darts (of all classes) I'm surprised they managed to go that fast along the A41 without a bit of the bodywork falling off them ;D Seriously though they were not very well looked after. IC hardly any metroline bus is well looked after Metroline are one of if not the worst for proper maintenance of their fleet, no wonder in majority of recent tenders where they have retained a route it specifies new buses! I wonder what those b9s they have recently ordered are goin to be like by 2012. Their recent enviros at HT are starting to look like vehicles they have had for the past couple years instead of months!

Yeah I know what you mean about all pointers, HT/KX are amongst the worse engineers ive seen! The pointers that work the 46/214/274/w5 are beyond a joke. Ever since i have moved to islington I have always lived closed to the 17/91/274 and if its not the roaring b7tls/58reg e400s, the screaming TE682, then its the spaceship sounding Y reg pointers or the jondeere sounding 55reg DVTs (Dennis Voith Tractor). I get to listen to everyday.

The only class of bus metroline can really seem to look after are the SELs. Probably because they are used on the high profile Route 7.

I was on some of the T reg TP's on the 4/17 and T reg TA's on the 210 and surprised how fast they are. Though they stil chuck out black smoke.

According to Lots metroline have ordered 22 B9tl Gemini 2's but where they are heading is still unconfirmed my guess is AC - Willesden for the 260/302.

Most likely for the 237 as that is the next route to recieve new buses. In addition to this I believe the AC (Willesden) commence in June next year and these buses are due for delivery in Spring so around March/April times.

I don't think these B9s are for the 237 because the contract starts in January 2010 but I could be wrong.

Who knows what they could be for then lol, or LOTS may have gotten it wrong, or supposing they went to HD for the 140 or 182 as the PVR on these Routes are 22 and Volvo B9s wouldnt be a problem for HD maintenance as HD uses specialises in Volvos.
Just a thought.

Yes it would be nice but that can't happen because routes 140 and 182 contracts starts / Ends in September 2011.

No they are not for the 237 as the new contract for that starts in january as mentioned above. Also the 237 is run from AH which apart from the Tempo's is an enviro garage and yes the evolutions are stil E200's my guess is that the 237 will get E400s. My bet stil is that these buses go to AC which apart from darts is a volvo garage.

Just a thought. What would LOTS have gotten wrong? They haven't even said what route Metroline plan to use new B9s on. Yes it would be nice but that can't happen because routes 140 and 182 contracts starts / Ends in September 2011. That doesn't mean a route can't get new buses mid-contract - it has happened before, where an operator has bought new buses for a route at its own expense, often where the existing buses are needed elsewhere. No they are not for the 237 as the new contract for that starts in january as mentioned above. Also the 237 is run from AH which apart from the Tempo's is an enviro garage and yes the evolutions are stil E200's my guess is that the 237 will get E400s. Never say never; just because a garage has one type of double-deck doesn't mean it can't get another - look at Holloway with both Tridents and Volvos for example Though a lot of different chassis types can be a headache for the engineers. Personally I'd rather wait til Metroline announce what route the B9s are destined for. Edit: Jamaal, there are 22 B9s on order. If they were going to HD that wouldn't be enough to convert both the 140 and 182.
