Caught a 117 this afternoon from Stanies. DE1009 was the vehicle. The driver was quite funny. He announced to us assembled at Stanies Bus Station that the timetable was changing on 12th Dec. Mentioning earlier times and advising us all to check before we travel, he then mentioned the routes passing to London United. ”So from September you’ll have to put up with them grumpy drivers from London United” he he went on to assure his punters “I’m trying to go with the route, but they might not want me, I have a habit of upsetting the management” Well let’s hope he does transfer with his route which he clearly loves. Perhaps he would cheer up Hounslow’s grumpy drivers ( probably grumpy because so many have lost their own routes to Metroline....😂) Will the 235 be next for RATP?

A decent chance you would say. 6 months is clearly a long time in tender world as we were all thinking RATP could be decimated in the Kingston awards but yet that are on a roll now. Hounslow Heath could be restocked before we know it.

ACAS talks between Metroline & Unite about the industrial dispute regarding remote sign-on/off have failed to come up with a compromise. Unite will now ballot for full strike action and also include the issue of pay in the dispute - they are also talking of potential coordinated action with workers from other bus operators, I know tensions are running high at nearby RATP too regarding their pay offer.
Interesting times ahead....

Interesting times ahead.... This is such a difficult situation, on one hand bus drivers have done incredibly well in the last eight months to keep London moving and they deserve a decent pay rise but then on the other hand TfL is squeezing operators to tighter and tighter margins so there is not as much profit to be made anymore.

Why, are they being cut up? What, does PV have its own evosetis? Because I thought they only come from PA. No PV don’t have there own EvoSeti’s.

I remember the later TPs being at HT too. I remember them appearing on the 24 alongside the VPs. I was wondering what routes they were allocated to.

Transbus was formed in December 2002 and the majority was brought in 2004 by a consortium who branded it Alexander Dennis. Plaxton survived as an independent after the Transbus collapse until ADL brought it in 2007.

Looking through an old fleet book, around 25 of the 52 and 03 reg TPs were allocated to HT with the majority of the whole batch at W. I don’t recall what route they were bought for but it is entirely possible they were for the 134 as a new contract was renewed in February 2003 and Ian Armstrong’s website has TPs replacing Ms for its allocation. There’s even a picture of one of the batch of TPs on the 134 on his site www.londonbuses.co.uk/_routes/current/134.htmlI seem to recall some of those TPs didn’t stay at HT for that long as some then moved onto other garages within Metroline
