Neither of the routes you mentioned are planned for double decker conversions especially 487 as its just been retained with single deckers which will be new buses. But can’t tenders be changed. The 302 in 2010 was awarded with new single deckers and double deckers but was completely converted to double deck using existing VPs and routes can be converted midway during their contracts. I know some routes have been converted midway through their contracts but none of routes you've mentioned are planned for double deck conversion at this time. 487 is planned for the future in the 2030s relation to Old Oak Common but that's an idea, it's still to be seen whether it will be taken forward.

So HT loses the 4, 168 and 271. Then loses the 91/N91 though a tender loss. A bit of blow there. Can I get a link for those changes? Couldn't find anything related to those changes.

Check the consultations board for 168 & 271, there is a links to the discussiond on the first page. They are closed, done and dusted.

However in the next 2 years there are plenty of routes nearby which could be won on tender like the 19 as well as the 27, 205, 214, 236 to fill up that space. Failing that I'd not be surprised to see KC garage closed or mothballed with the 30 and 274 moving to HT

For those talking about the 189’s LTs - I believe it will be possible for the route to keep hold of them around Camden. The 27 runs with LTs and has been since the E3 converted to ADH several years ago.

It's the roads between Kilburn High Road and Chalk Farm Station which the 31 runs alone which is the issue unfortunately. I'd put money on that an LT would not be able to successfuly work around South Hampstead, Belsize Road, Fairfax Road or west of Abbey Road (heading towards Swiss Cottage) with very narrow roads and parked cars. The VMHs struggle quite a bit already.

Camden is not the issue but the issue is can LTs get around the new routing of the 189 between Swiss Cottage and Kilburn.

I wonder whether the ex-First DEMs at PB are used much now? I saw several 382s and a couple of 384s yesterday but they were all indigenous examples.
I saw a few 134s and these were all OMEs. Mind you, there was a VW on route 263. I shunned it as I was planning one on route 83 and prefer not to repeat buses on the same trip.
