For all the Voith Enviro400 fans out there...you can rejoice as E38 and E39 have returned to service at Croydon on the 405 today, and all of the ex Bexleyheath E400's at Croydon are back in service. It appears the 202 has gone back to a normal timetable today. Out of the 405's allocation, only E77 is yet to return from storage, although for the 127 EN26 and WVL204/238/239 are still yet to return and E226 is at Hants and Dorset trim

That's back out on the road, and indeed on the X26 as I write this

I do find the possibility of charging an electric bus using a long extension lead from Argos quite funny. It would probably make sense to install some charging infrastructure at Uno and HCT ready for the future when electric buses become the "norm" across the country What I would find funny is if HCT Group, having standardised on ADL products and especially the Enviro400 City bodywork for its double deckers, it then went and ordered a pair of Optare Metrocity EVs! I reckon of you could get the Metrodecker internal layout into the Enviro400 City EV exterior body styling, you would have the perfect electric double decker. They went for a lot of Optare single deckers previously so it is no surprise. They also had the sole E400 chassis bodied Optare for the W13D. I believe they do have a BYD/ADL Electric decker on trial now.

WVN20 wasn't placed into store, although during the peak of the crisis that spent most of its time on the X26 which WVL366 isn't blinded for.

I don't think there was enough Es to cover the WVN given some were being refurbished at the time. They'll always try and maximise use of the more fuel efficent buses obviously.

Good to see them back but the ones I'm missing are the now sold-on Epsom 07-reg ADEs which had better routes to show themselves off on. The 405 of course is an excellent route to do so as well but past the evening rush hour, the 418 and particularly the 406 are practically full thrash the whole way after you get out of Kingston. I always tried to get a 406 back to Epsom in the evenings - going like hell down the A240 and especially down the hill at Stoneleigh was always great fun. Glad then that my last journey on one was a late evening 406 journey - Kingston to Epsom in 20 mins, absolutely wonderful. Can't say I'll be jumping out of my seat to be getting on a VH once the pandemic ends!

Glad I did it then in hindsight! I always liked the LWB ones Stagecoach had on the 61 - many good rides on those.

I had E61 on the 280 yday. I didnt realise it had made it's way to AL. Was in pretty good condition for a 13 year old bus that as far as I'm aware has never had a refurb as they have only really done once contract on the 213 (2009-16) and they were only 2 years old when the 213 was retained with them. After 2016 they never had another contract did they?
