I wonder if something such as WHVs going to another garage releasing EHs for the 5 which would help GAL retain the 5 next tender as well as provide the school routes WVLs. 20 WHVs are being released from C alongside the current 9 allocated to the 5 would mean 3-4 buses need sourcing to complete its allocation. Of course this is just a theory. I like this idea, alot. I would say the 197, being most simple but its the mirrorless buses which just ruin the whole simple. I’d say they were most likely to come from the 208 or 363, and maybe 135 at a push. 208 is the only EH route at Orpington, and also does not serve the ULEZ and can work with WVLs and same for the 363 too. WVL's would be too old for both the 197 & 208 contracts and as mentioned, the 363 enters the ULEZ so cannot be officially allocated WVL's.

I did wonder if with TFLs blessing the WHVs could be removed from Sutton to be used elsewhere as A would probably suit a full new bus allocation in 2022.

Why do people hate WHVs or B5LHs as a whole theyre comfortable Fast and generally nice to be on I haven't seen anyone actively going out saying they hate them, but they aren't exactly unanimously liked either. The styling is a bit marmity and the build quality a bit off in places too. Some of the earliest examples of the updated design on the 119 and 202 haven't been short of mechanical faults either. I'd disagree with you on the comfortable front owing to the very soft suspension which often means for a bumpy ride. The chassis is a bit awkward in places too, especially the raised section on the rear left which makes the back of the bus feel rather cramped no matter how tall you are. This is an issue with the G3, EvoSeti and MMC when on the B5LH chassis. That being said, in terms of operational terms the G3 is very light making it economical. In fact I'd go as far as saying it's too light for it's own good (links in with the soft suspension issue I mentioned earlier). By comparison, the EvoSeti is miles heavier and therefore much worse on fuel as a result.

My personal view on them is internally, I think they're decent and they generally are very cool during hot weather but otherwise, they don't really float my boat and I much prefer the MMC or even a City overall.

It’s also not the end of the B7TL WVL’s either as WVL238 is back out on Route 127

Their not hated at all. I was more thinking if a route was won that say needed 21 buses then the ex 202/405 plus the Sutton ones could be used as I think in 2022 Sutton will have a full new fleet for the 80, 93, 151 and 154 as there aren't enough WHVs for a retain of any of the four routes and I'm not sure you would have existing hybrid/new electric on the same route tender.

With the Here-East single deckers still stood down, E7 remains in charge with a EN helping out during the peak hours

Shock to the system also came when I noticed the rear row has a legroom impediment, due to the rear wheels being directly under it! After trying three Ees out whilst on shopping trips, I can safely say I’ll be sticking to the B5s if I see a crowded electric approaching.... especially in these times

It’s also not the end of the B7TL WVL’s either as WVL238 is back out on Route 127 According to this month's LOTS some more may return to service in due course, these being WVL111, 189, 204, 205, 239, 249 and 250 which are all still in stock since being stood down.

I think WVL 249/250 will still be needed in September unless any spares E400s are available at RR.
