As the 200 when electric relied on the 57/131/280's buses every night, there could be logic in avoiding Ees so that there can be a wider pool of buses for the 200 outside of the 57's WHVs. I hope they do go for something new regardless

I hope they do go for something new regardless There was a (very low quality) rumour going round with YouTube enthusiasts that apparently more MetroDeckers had been ordered for the 131. Obviously to be taken with a quarry-ful of salt, and don’t expect that for one second to come true given GAL experience with those Me’s Needless to say if that does comes through I was officially stage a protest 🤣 do not want those abominations on my favourite route

Obviously saw EL1 the other week going round Phipps Bridge so would be interesting to know if that was a route test/how it did if so Phipps Bridge shouldn't be any issue - the section that rendered the Ee unsuitable was the Copse Hill double run as I understand it (presumably they have a worse steering lock than the many 10.7m Darts that managed this section in the past without issue) and an Electroliner would have no issue getting through there given Me's are a similar length (0.1m difference) and are the allocation. For the 280 itself, I suspect it will be more Ee's - so far, Go-Ahead have been rigid with their electric orders, only differentiating because the 200 needed something shorter than a Ee and the 358 needed something to go with the pantograph charging. It'll be the R routes where we might start to see something different be ordered

Tooting Broadway should be fine because the 333 stands in the same place and has Ee's on order and there is nothing to suggest so far that Go-Ahead won't stop ordering Ee's where possible. I don't mind the Metrodecker, quite nice to ride on having done a Me and a couple of RATP OME's - far from perfect (not keen on the small side windows upstairs at the front, also the lights dimming and brightening every time the bus stops is odd) but personally, not an abomination at all and certainly wouldn't stage a protest at them either. ADL BYD's are the best looking still but for overall package, still the Electroliner for me, especially Transport UK examples.

It'll be the R routes where we might start to see something different be ordered Since last order was confirmed publicly, they have trialled BZL, Electroliner and potentially are ordering 100 BYD Integrals, although both companies are tight lipped about deal.
