I'm a bit lost as to what vehicles work route 280 nowadays. I thought it was classic WHVs at GM outstationed from AL, but I have seen about other AL vehicles potentially covering. If so, I wonder which routes the WHVs cover instead? Down to driver preference and a few are at AF as refurb floats

The 280 is on paper WHVs but in practice mixed about on other routes primarily for engineering convenience, given that mechanical attention/maintenance is still done at AL

Thank you for all your answers about route 280. I may take pot luck as to where to ride a WHV or WVL at AL/GM. Route 200 might just work out! I have come to terms with the MetroDekkers probably not being back by September 28th.
What would make a route S1 MetroCity enjoyable, especially if refurbished to GA spec, is that it is a small rare batch.
I now doubt I shall ride route P4 then, as I shall have plenty else to ride in Wimbledon, Norwood and maybe Crystal Palace. Plus, having already done route 199 in February, it would further compromise my range of fresh rides in Lewisham next year.

The 280's are usually a mix of WHV'S and WVN'S with the WVL'S mainly employed on the 200 and 131.. Wishing you all the best with whatever 280 you ride

Commercial livery 9.3m SE85 makes an appearance on the 299 today flic.kr/p/2q8jrus (Credit to Wanderer 30)
Despite being refitted with LED blinds, it is using paper blinds like with other buses on the 299 since Saturday.

I believe it will be used on the 389 and 399.

I saw some WHVs standing in Wembley Park earlier today. Did the 719 pass to Go Ahead?

Only a guess but judging by the vehicles being used for the 299 being 10.2m and the fact a service still hasn’t started, maybe they’re trying to source more appropriate sized vehicles for the 389/399 TfL declined usage of Commercial buses, they had SE85 ready for cover today until they can get a TfL spec bus ready Not sure why they didn't allow it before but glad it's been overturned, looks like someone with common sense came into work today

E118 & E119 now transferred to RR. Nice to see more tridents over here, whos to guess why more are coming over though. Refurb floats perhaps?

The 147 MHVs and WHVs are really in need of being done. I also believe the 368 batch of WHVs need to be started. Both tender renewals are well over a year into the new contracts.
