lol if it hasn’t been in service since like a few Saturdays ago, that means it hasn’t returns since I was on it coming back from Wimbledon and it decided to have a sit down at Haydon’s Road Station Oh dear oh dear, things aren’t looking great right now I am enjoying their absence, the B9TLs on the 200 sound marvellous on the hills and perform quite well. WVN40 when I rode it flew up Wimbledon Hill with no sweat at all, the WVLs struggle more but their engines are much livelier sounding than the WVNs so I like them more. Better than the 493’s buses fighting for their lives and the 93’s ISA crawling I saw WVL426 on the 200 the other week and I should say it performed really well even up the Hill. Then half an hour I saw the same bus going towards Mitcham and it was music to my ear hearing it thrashing down the Hill. I don't mind them staying longer!

The ex-D7 11-reg WVLs are an exceptional batch of vehicles. Some of the very best vehicles ever seen in London imo. Can’t think of one negative about them. I’ve been on all of them while on the D7, WVL426 and 428 especially are absolutely cracking vehicles As I said a few weeks ago, what do we call ‘progress’ when 13 year old vehicles are still some of the best in London and absolutely p**ses all over the tosh that’s made today!

WVL426 and WVL434 are my favourite of the batch. Really good to see them living on elsewhere in London.

I think a special mention should also be given to the similarly aged buses that were on the 5 until someone decided to dump a load of LTs on it. Exceptional batch of buses and I would always thoroughly enjoyed using them.

I was gutted to see them come off the D7, they were synonymous with that route. They didn’t look right on the 157 at all tbh, and very weird to see them somewhere else after working nothing but the D7 for years. But at least they’re soldiering on, much better in service than in the scrapheap!!

I would like to see them turn up at BX should they need something for the 99, 269 & 401 for January, if there is one GAL garage that should have more B9TL's then it would have to be BX for sure as they are one of those garages who are good at maintaining their buses unlike some other Go-Ahead garages and they got plenty to good routes to utilise their power with the hills etc...

Unfortunately WVL423 was in a poor state the other day, from zero it accelerates ridiculously slowly although after a few seconds it picks up. On the hills it gave up as if the gears were frozen and trundled along slowly until the road flattened out again in a similar manner to the LX09 Es.
WVL431 was great today with the driver flooring it, sadly we got blocked from flying up the whole of Wimbledon Hill because of a 93. WVL292 struggles a lot but it is notably louder than the newer ones

It's one of my favourite routes they were on for their thrashes along Saint Helier Avenue and their sweat climbs up Anerley Hill

WVL425 was another weaker one in my mind.

It's one of my favourite routes they were on for their thrashes along Saint Helier Avenue and their sweat climbs up Anerley Hill Personal opinion, they just really didn’t suit the route imo at all and looked really out of place. Nothing but personal perceptions though. A combination of buses being so entrenched in a much loved route they’d just come off of, and being completely different to the buses we’d got used to under the 157’s previous tenure (E400s) I think for me the D7’s WVLs became so synonymous with the route is because of their unique registrations. It was the only route to have buses with LX11F**’s, and no other route did. So as soon as you saw the plate I immediately thought ‘D7 bus’, which made it easier to tell it apart from the other non-D7 WVLs used on it when GAL still had the 474 Exactly the same with the SN10C’s which I love that used to be on the C1.

Yep B9s are excellent buses, feels weird saying that though. Didnt really care about them years ago but since the London bus scene became more boring ive really grown to like them alot, and now theyre some of my favourite buses! Cant really say a single bad thing about majority of them in London nowadays. The GAL ones are the best though 200 suits them B9s alot, wouldnt mind if all the Me’s get dumped on the next tender

Rode on that once when it strayed onto the D7 and it was just the next level to the usual ones!

The route is rather long but the WVL made it quite a pleasant ride. Not sure if I'd say the same with an Ee though.

I've recently travelled on Ees on route which at the best now makes the 157 quite ordinary, though if the Mes are ever sorted for Merton I'd love to ride a potential odd worker
