It would, but 601 would have to move too, which might not work well from NX. From memory the two routes are crosslinked, or at least will be once the 333 electrifies. According to schedules there are no crosslinks. Overall the 89 would not move to NX with the traffic that comes across daily the majority of buses will probably get turned to Northend Road. If anything moves I suspect the 51 244 & 486 will be on the cards… There were some crosslinks planned at one stage as it was envisaged there would be 22 MHVs transferring in to cover a combined PVR of 22. The 333 needing the 89's vehicle may have changed it (or deferred it).

414 going with an increase of 14's makes sense, never saw the point of the 414 since they chopped it back from Maida Hill.. The 118 is the headscratcher, why renumber it when its the same route.. Withdraw the 45 if it no longer serves any purpouse.

Withdraw the 45 if it no longer serves any purpouse. I also think this is the only case I can remember where just keeping the lower number doesn’t actually make sense. Usually the 2-digit numbers well known to people. If I said to a local from Peckham or Camberwell the number ‘12’ or ‘36’ they’d know exactly what to use it for. Same with an east Londoner if you mentioned the 25 or 86, or someone from Putney/Fulham the 14, or someone from Finsbury Park the 29. But the 45 just doesn’t seem to mean anything to anyone and could probably disappear without anyone knowing. The 118 has far more of a significance to the area, like how there are some higher numbered hugely well known routes which have come to have a same significance as a smaller number in their areas (109, 149, 243, 279 and 453)

This is to simply copy what happened with the 13 & 82 - make out the 82 is going rather than the 13 so less people notice. The 118 has less significance in Brixton given it only served Brixton since 1990 when it was swapped with the 60 and diverted away from Clapham Common - the reason the 118 number should remain IMO is because the whole current 118 route isn’t changing and is simply being extended. Numbers shouldn’t be retained based on supposed significance.

Given that August 20th wasn't that long ago a bus with that kind of damage is unlikely to return to service so quickly. Assuming it's repairable it needs to be sent away to specialists where the overall process could take up to a few months due to multiple factors, such as other buses ahead of it awaiting treatment

It appears that BX has around 120 vehicles at the moment. The maximum capacity is 245. Is there really any need to move routes out? Have to say there is a lot of driver training going on at the moment. The garage capacity 175 and is on the DVSA website. What is currently registered and what could be accommodated are not always the same thing. I doubt that many, if any. drivers would want to transfer from BX to MG.

It was reported once on here by a MG driver that the majority of drivers at MG garage lived in Kent and Essex, no doubt aided by the easy car access to the site via the A13/Blackwall and the A2. I’d be genuinely interested to see how many London bus drivers actually live in London. For example, they did a survey a few years back of Met officers and found that 56% lived outside London.
