There are multiple articles citing Swift bringing in a billion pound uplift to the UK economy. Her concerts in Sweden helped pull their economy out of recession. There is every chance The Mayor offered the police escort as a kind gesture following the terrorist threat, which is far better than Swift tweeting to her 98 million followers she probably wouldn't have felt safe had she not gotten it. London has taken a bashing on the global stage for increased crime in recent years. Bar Shake It Off which is linked to a memory of a dead friend of mine, I'll happily state to anyone listening I strongly have a distaste for her music and the cult-like fanbase she has. That does not mean however I cannot objectively acknowledge her achieved accolades. Especially after the Manchester Arena bombings, do you expect this solo female artist with the most shows played at Wembley Stadium to just take the 232 and walk there from Brent Park? That all depends on where she got the 232 from.. Point aside, I don’t think anyone could survive those streetlites - I had a ride on one a few days ago and it certainly was an experience… (Also, Wood Green. Need I say more?)

Streetlites are better from an operational standard than an E200; better of fuel and a lot more hard waring however from a passenger view they’re awful and the E200 is a better bus to be on. That said the Versa is better than both.

And it's only a one-year contract, it expires in November 2025. There are plenty opf vehicles that could be retained for another year. There would also be nothing to stop Go-Ahead operating the route with hybrids if they had to.

Perhaps their plan is to retain it within the year and get it some new Wright Electroliners, if succesful

Especially after the Manchester Arena bombings, do you expect this solo female artist with the most shows played at Wembley Stadium to just take the 232 and walk there from Brent Park? Do you understand the phrase “operational independence”? The Met should be seen to make operational decisions based on requests from the Mayor or other politicians especially when they declined after finding no evidence of a threat to her in the UK. It’s even worse when you consider both the Home Secretary, hiding behind her husband, and the Mayor were hospitality guests of her label Universal. If you cannot see how bad this looks you deserve every lie, every tax increase and every u-turn that will continue to happen until the next general election. I understand the phrase operational independence, but I do not believe in it. If it were true, how come very few MPs were fined for Partygate when there were a reported 118 parties in Downing Street? And The Met would've known, seen and scanned the suitcases of Chablis coming through the security gates. Growing up is realising everyone is in each other's pockets. As aforementioned, the optics of not offering a global superstar protection would've been much worse. It was afforded to Huw Edwards, why not her? Anyways, this is far off topic and I've already used the 232 segway. Happy to talk about GAL putting RR garage codes on their buses for the first time if you wish; seeing them on the 147 is like seeing a unicorn in real life.

That said the Versa is better than both. Depends on which Enviro 200's we are talking about because there are several variations at play. The pre WTA spec Enviro 200's are horrendous and age just as bad - the lack of legroom at the rear showing how ADL viewed passengers as an afterthought. They improved this aspect with WTA spec Enviro 200's but the whole product didn't really improve overall. The MAN Enviro 200, whilst good from an enthusiast point of view, has a terrible rear section where seats don't match window height so robs passengers of decent views unless you sit near the front. The MMC, IMO, was a big improvement and from a passenger perspective, little complaints from me though I think some operators aren't as impressed by them IIRC. I'd rather sit on a Streetlite, despite their issues, than a pre MMC Enviro 200 if I was a passenger and given a choice. Where I agree with you is on the Versa, an underrated vehicle IMO.

The Versa is a great bus; the cab is a little small but the driveline is second to none; it such a smooth vehicle and very sturdy too. The legroom is adequate and the overall ambience of the bus is far better than it’s competitors; I think lead times put many operators off ordering the thing but I really like them.

It used to house the Irizar buses formerly on 108, and currently houses the ex-red arrow SEe buses, so yes
