Transport being political certainly doesnt help matters (fare freezes, hopper and the free zip passes). I did see a post elsewhere saying the criteria for disabled, senior and half rate are far too easy and dished out, anyone actually know the facts? Then theres TfL revenue protection, TfL seem to rely on people being good (dunno what word to use) and paying where as this doesnt happen to quite an extent.

Ive seen rumours on social media about removing free travel on the Zip oyster cards? Can anyone confirm this is true and how much the fare is and when it will start?
I travel to a very far school, 2 buses any route which I take (3 possible ways) for go and return so looks like a lot of money will be gone from me, and not the wealthiest.
If only the 31 was extended a little central past its terminus, guess Im going to have start walking more, will be horrible at 8am though.

No news on when it will start, however it is certainly true with free travel ending soon.

Per week you will spend £15 where 15x40= £600 over the year

If so it may not be as much as £3 a day. Also the end of free child fares is temporarily measure due to Covid so once the situation has improved sufficiently, free fares should be reintroduced again but of course we don’t know when that would be.
