Pardon my language, but I'm getting really f**king peeed off at some of the drivers on the N15. I've said in the past that certain bad apples who work at night feel impunity because there's no one conscious enough to report their misdeeds. I had to report a driver last week, the same driver who told me to walk from Romford to Barking at 2am in November after I broke my bank card being trapped in a toilet. I alighted in the Stepney area last week and he deliberately didn't stop for me. Me. The only one alighting. It was targeted, it wasn't accidental, and I felt I had to report it. Fast forward to this week where I haven't mentioned it on here (the walls definitely have ears) and a driver who's quite friendly with me, Dean, has flung me around so violently that I've lost my passport within the final 2 minutes of being on the bus. I take responsibility for losing it, but I believe it wasn't natural for me to have possession for roughly 7 hours whilst in an inebriated state, only to lose it in the final 2 mins of my journey. And the reason why I mention the friendly driver is normally he'd be responsive to me & punters in general. This guy has stopped me for receipts falling out my pocket when I tap in, why was a passport falling out not classed as something he should flag up? I cancelled it immediately after alighting, and I'm sure it was near the driver area of the aisle as that's the only place I hadn't looked. But for these childish grown ups spiting me for what; because I say thanks when I board and alight? Because I have manners and wish to bestow that on people? Swearing at the start of this post doesn't back up my claims, but I'm still very annoyed at what happened. But it's okay. It's my 28th birthday soon and I clearly have been using my passport as ID for too long. Somehow, including getting up 2 minutes early before my stop to make sure I had all my contents, this is still my fault. And I'll take responsibility, but driver behaviour definitely played a part in the misplacing of my crucial document. There are three night routes into Barking, I guess I better explore those other options for a while. I won't be played with by immature, insecure children masquerading as adults. Akin to the time in the height of the pandemic last year where some drivers decided I wasn't a key worker and wouldn't stop for me, I need a break from taking the N15. Are you positive that you lost the passport on the bus. Surely you would have seen or heard the driver open & close the cab door to pick it up, unless some other passenger tok it. What would the driver even want to take it for. If he did, chances are he would have hand it in. In future, I would not recommend anyone take their passport to use as an ID. It is something I hardly ever take unless I am travelling or a certain business transaction etc. requires it. It is probably cheaper to apply for a photo provisional driving licence and if that is lost it is also cheaper to replace.

Even better, the CitizenCard is 20 quid cheaper and can be on your phone, so you don't need to carry anything else.

There was only one other person on the lower deck, and was situated at the rear of the bus; the incident happened in the middle doors of the bus. And yes I boarded with it as I was quite frankly surprised I had it in the state I was in. I physically held it until I put it in my pocket to alight. I personally believe it was a petty act of vengeance after reporting a N15 driver last week. Not wanting to get into that but he had treated me in an unfavourable manner a few times and it was the final straw. To put it into context, this is only the second driver I've ever reported. If my suspicion is right, it's retaliation for my actions last week on the driver's part. That does not mean I'll report him, I can't really as it's not his responsibility that I lost it. However it is fair of me to question his out-of-character actions last night. Got it in the neck from everyone at work today mate, I'll get a provisional by the end of the month!

If you believe he has taken it, then contact London Buses, to get Go-Ahead to download the cctv. It is helpful around the time, it is very easily downloadable and the cctv department would forward it to the garage manager for viewing if he was guilty of it. That is a sackable offence.

Even though it’s cancelled it might be interesting to know if it was handed in or not…. Sorry to hear about your experiences, I’ve been on the receiving end of drivers who I suspect did these things on purpose (one driving past me in Sydenham after the 122 in front turned short - I jogged and caught this up, and another who whizzed straight past my stop when had rung the bell at a sensible time and stood by the centre doors at a sensible time too). Never had anything as bad as this though. It’s worse in your case I’d say as it sounds like the N15 drivers recognise you, the PD drivers wouldn’t have recognised me but I still don’t get why they’d do these things…….

not ever too late to spot before able to turn around on left side to avoid the low bridge. I’m guessing at times drivers of single deckers May “forget” they are driving DDs and sort of ignore the warnings as sub-consciously they feel They are driving single decks?

There is a width restriction he should have seen first, complete and utter failure on the driver, prob rushing about to get somewhere, from driving singles and doubles, I still think twice approaching a height restriction in a single deck let alone a decker

By the looks of things there are several warnings and flashing overheight vehicle signs on the approach to the bridge. And a 6'6" width restriction with the road physically narrowed to enforce this. A bus is about 8'4" wide.

If I was Johnny No Name to the N15 drivers in the past 9 years I've constantly been using the route, perhaps I wouldn't get such treatment... I know bus garages hand their lost property over to TfL every Wednesday. My next day off is tomorrow so I'm very much going to give it a try. Just don't want to go to DS to then be told that I have to go to River Road for lost property; haven't been past since July so have no idea if there are any proper facilities. When I last went past, DS looked like a glorified car park to be fair. You would know more than most Alex that I have the utmost respect for night bus drivers. They are more under pressure schedule wise, and have everything from a lost passenger to a homeless person boarding. Their compassion and discression is something I admire and respect, so the last thing I ever want to do is call out a night bus driver.

The symbolism of it being the bus marked 'Spirit of London' is rather unfortunate. It sends a rather unfortunate signal about what that means today. This isn't proving to be a happy lineage sadly: blown up, on fire and now a stabbing.

I think even more worrying is, that it is the Spirit of London 2 that is has happened on.
