Not a corridor I use very often, but the 50/109/250 north from Croydon very often have an air of menace about them. Given the choice, if heading north from Croydon, I’d use the 468 corridor every time. That and the 468 is quicker too. Or the train if you can afford that. To be honest though 50, doesn't really have much issues as it follows the 468 to Heath then Melfort Road till Norbury and then Streatham there's umpteen routes there, it's mainly the 109/250 that have the issues I’m usually sailing straight through the area on the Brighton Main Line, yes!...

It's highly likely a 250 as you say - not only is it 100% an Arriva T class vehicle but if it happened in Streatham Hill (which could be debated given the paper already got the route wrong), the 250 is the only route it could be It's also no surprise it would happen on a 250 (or even a 109 for that matter) - these two routes go through some very sketchy areas and are well known to carry a sizeable number of undesirables over a number of decades now. Not a corridor I use very often, but the 50/109/250 north from Croydon very often have an air of menace about them. Given the choice, if heading north from Croydon, I’d use the 468 corridor every time. The 468 is the better choice along with the 50 - they’re not free of trouble but nowhere near as bad as the other two plus I’ve found the 468 to be quicker most of the time but it says a lot when even someone like yourself who doesn’t frequent that corridor often gets an air of menace from certain routes

For anyone who hasn't seen, LT20 has been refurbished. The new moquette looks a lot more like the original RM moquette, and I think it suits them better. I'm still not a fan of the LTs though, especially the ones AV have, which are in a right state. Think it looks great !

Great to know that the older LTs are finally going through refurbishment.

I particularly like the extra high-level window at the rear of the upper deck that brightens up that whole area and makes it feel less threatening.

My concern with these refurbishment’s is that the older buses are likely to be the first to be scrapped for spare parts. Also hope these pace of refurbishment is fairly quick! Would hate this to turn out like the D stock District Line where trains were withdrawn after only a few years!

I have some thoughts on TfL area bus route numbers but I am unsure of which subject it comes under. Please advise! BTW thanks for promoting me from cleaner!

Wasn't the whole point of smaller windows to reduce the greenhouse effect in the hot weather?

They are extremely stuffy in hot weather and the smaller wonders make for a fairly dull dark experience for passengers.

It would still get hot Unless of course the bus is made of wood

It's really relaxed and the seats are comfy. IMO the City (EV, never been on the hybrids) is really not good, the back part of the lower deck is really tight, if I was any taller I'd hit my head and I'm not even six foot. The upper deck of the BCE is really dingy, just my opinion, but I am disappointed that many of my local routes will get these. On the other hand the BE's are lovely, but I do prefer single decks as I generally use buses when shopping, have seven bags to carry so going up is not feasible, and singles have better downstairs capacity.

The hybrids & gas ones (outside London) interior is much better, good legroom all around and good height inside as well. The electrics downstairs are poor though nowhere near as dingy as LT’s personally

There are photos of refurbished LT 20 on the Londoner FB page if anyone is interested. I must say I was very underwhelmed but not sure what I was expecting!
