Walking down Mile End Road yesterday, I saw a single decker which had sightseeing advertised all over it. Would one ever get a single deck sightseeing bus? I would guess if the financial situation gets really bad, we may end up seeing more single decker tour buses. It’s not a single decker tour bus and single decker tour bus wouldn’t really make money, there are 2 E200’s branded for the green shuttle which I believe is a hotel feeder service for the main city sightseeing routes Oh ok, thanks for letting me know.

On that note I drive on the north circular a few weeks back. Has the area in front of the Brent Cross shopping centre has its speed limit reduced to 40? It used to be 50 before at some stage after Colney hatch (heading anti clockwise) but this time was always 40 which I found surprising It is still 50 from Colney Hatch to Henlys Corner and from there its 40 all the way to Stonebridge Park. Wasn’t it 50 at least in front of Brent Cross shopping centre?

I got ignored by a 77 driver today who had a near empty bus and forced to cram onto a 44. Would love to see the route go to AL or another operator as isn’t been absolutely terrible recently.

I've heard a few complaints about AL and suggestions that it stands for Always Lazy. TfL should have mystery shoppers looking into these sort of things, if nothing is done they'll continue and probably get worse.

When stopping to pick up passengers might affect their bonus payments, there is no incentive for them to stop ... fare income makes diddlysquat difference to them.

“Safety” Doesn’t deter the boy racers though Even the average speed camera on the A13 doesn’t stop the boy racers as most probably on fake plates. Does the 30mph section have additional new cameras? Had to go over Lodge Avenue flyover last weekend and can confirm there’s no additional average speed cameras *yet*. Just the existing ones east of Movers Lane Jn and by Renwick Road.

Is it fair to say that the diesels in TFL land are fast disappearing and will be totally gone within a few years?

Is it fair to say that the diesels in TFL land are fast disappearing and will be totally gone within a few years? Yes - If we’re going contractually there are a few routes which go up to 2027 (127, 191, 220 for example) although I’m not sure if there’s any after that. Chances are spare hybrid buses can come onto routes mid contract too, using the 127 as an example again EH195 and 213 unfortunately replaced two of the older Es a few months ago.

I was on the 395 this evening and it so rammed full of passengers that I couldn’t get off. It got me thinking what would help the 395 a frequency increase or longer single deckers or double deckers 😂

Do they normally announce the tender results for underground replacement services? Was on the TfL tender page and they published the tender result for the Piccadilly line replacement service on 18/5/22.

Gemini 2 B5LHs have to be up there for buses with the worst passenger experience! The rattling on the BN examples is crazy. They are quite nippy and the engines don’t sound bad but sitting on one when idle, especially in traffic, is quite irritating.
A friend of mine once sat at the back downstairs of a packed pre-electric 319 between Clapham Junction and Tooting Bec. Safe to say he regretted it!

Usually just operators and staff informed (not on tender page) so public knowledge if staff say on Facebook/here etc.

Try a early Dennis Dart SLF, DAF SB120, or a Dennis Lance SLF.

Gemini 2 B5LHs are rattly for sure, but not THAT bad outside a select few (HV89 comes to mind). I can’t speak for ride quality on BNs HVs, but do notice I never or rarely see their engines cut out when idle in comparison to other batches (from what I see in vacuity of routes 50 and 133). Maybe they are running limp on diesel? which does make rattling worse. That saying there are more tartly stuff out there. SW7 was one of the most rattly buses out there, along with Metroline’s Enviro 400Hs MMCs (nice acceleration, but awful boneshaking).
