Whilst I do like the B9TLs on the 28 that route as a whole is starting to become another 266 for me. (For those that have read up on my previous posts on how it was like when it used to go to Hammersmith) I was so close to completing it after nearly 8 years only for it to stop 5 stops short. We go again another time. Note to self don't do that route at PEAK times. Luckily for me I only have the first couple stops in Wandsworth to do the 28 I was so close. It's like when you get to the final boss of the game where's there's no lives left and you almost complete the game and then a blackout happens or like when everyone including the goalkeeper goes up for the last corner kick only for the ref to blow the whistle as soon as the set piece is taken.

Id go further than that, I say donβt use that route at any time other than Sunday mornings or evenings ππ awful route It frustrated me that day when I was doing that route. I really looked at the driver like you really couldn't go to Southside for me *sighs*

I remember when there was no 328 and the 28 went all the way to Golders Green and riding from one end to the other. I thought it was painful then, but nothing like what the 28 is now. You'll never encourage more passengers with the delays and journey times that the 28 currently has to suffer.

From Harrow Road it's about 5-10 minutes (give or take) to Kensal Rise and another 30 minutes (I'm even being gracious) to Golders Green but then again most of roads back then were 30mph

Hahaha. They already did their split in 1999

I take it your not allowing yourself to be turned when doing your end to end routes? For myself, as long as I don't move from that stop, I allow turns in my challenge - thankfully, has only happened a few times during my challenge and not for a long while now.

That's so annoying ππππ. I've had a couple where I've gotten off the penultimate stop by accident and I've had to go back and re do it

Struggled with where to put this, but it's a long one so probably here is best.
I had to drop a portable charger to my mate in South Bermondsey last night after an event over at the Excel. A butterfly event in me forgetting my wallet meant I couldn't do the SL2- Woolwich foot tunnel- N1 combo, and I'd just missed the last Tube. So I ended up crossing the river in Greenwich instead and got the N199 (82005). Instead of getting the N1 all the way there as planned, I had to alight at Surrey Quays Station and walk.
As I got off the bus, there was a man lying on the pavement with blood coming from his head. The driver initially didn't see him, but once he did he immediately called a code red. I have to say that the garage controller was fairly hostile and condescending with his tone, pretty much looking for a reason to leave an unconscious passenger who was having fits pretty much for dead. The garage controller eventually gave in that it's a serious incident and we waited for an ambulance. By contrast, the route controller at West Ham was very understanding and didn't give the driver grief, just to radio in when the police gives the all clear.
As much as I was inconvenienced, there was a fair chance this person wouldn't have received timely medical treatment. It transpired from a neighbour who only came out after the EMT services arrived that this man was lying on the ground for 30+ mins. She was unsure of coming out on her own until this point, but did have important info for the responders and felt safe to come out when they were there. Still, I had no intention of taking the N199 last night but through something bad through delays, something good hopefully managed to come out of it. No one else but myself alighted, so he could have been in that vulnerable position for much longer. I hope he's doing okay in hospital.
Shout out to the driver of 82005 last night for showing so much empathy and humanity in the situation. And again a big shout out to all night bus drivers, they arguably have a harder time at night with the unpredictable nature of passengers and the challenging conditions of keeping them safe at night.

Howdy Doody
Because of the seemingly endless work done on sections of Victoria and Station Road, the 266 is constantly curtailed at Cricklewood Broadway. I hopped onto a 189 to Brent Cross. I do hope the diversion to serve Brent Cross West station is either: temporary in the sense the construction work results in a new through road (removing the loop). If that is indeed due to remain that way, it's on a par with the 326. Taking a route which (subject to traffic conditions) can be lengthy and adding even more minutes to it. The 326 does a similar thing at a New Barnet estate.

The oddest thing about the current arrangement is that buses serve both stops in both directions... seems unnecessary!

Hi folks, so a while back I did a challenge with the 37 and 345 based on which route from Peckham would get me to Clapham Junction. It's nice to say the 37 did it for me. I actually prefer that route over the 345 as it goes through some interesting areas. My only sticking point is around Herne Hill with how tight that junction is and how some drivers can easily switch up at the last minute when they realise they're in the wrong lane. (Similar to the roads in Stockwell).
I still need to do the 246 journey to Chartwell. Just when I think I'm able to do it multiple times something else happens. So I'm making it a must for this summer.
To my Hounslow folks on here. I know the 110 has been reduced in frequency and I ask would it be worth it to do an end to end journey on that route or not because of the hotspots. I've done the journey before but in the 391 form

I mean, I've used buses during live sports events before and mostly, they've been ok experiences but that was easily the worst.
