I was on a 201 this morning yes - I was running late and it stopped all the way at the back as usual, and I only saw it as it overtook the deckers and so had to dash ahead to the next stop to catch it - think the driver saw me and didn't mind waiting about 8 seconds till I got to the door. If you were there, you didn't see me in my best state - untidy, tired and sans make-up i was just too stunned to say anything, you have a nice bus bag though

I don’t know on where to put this, I have had a couple of members saying to fellow forum members that my contributions are not valid and I don’t live in Beijing etc. For the record I do live in Beijing and regularly communicate by email with pictures and videos to some members also a few members are on my Wechat account (like Whatssap) and I send them live videos, sights and video calls. So please the trolls stop harassing me and if anyone wants my Wechat details please pm me and I give you the details, I just feel dishearten with these allegations and feel not wanted! Rant Over!

Furthermore I can’t put pictures on Flickr etc because if you know China the internet here is very strict and so hard to log onto Western Sites, I have to illegally use a VPN to open sites and the VPN works when it wants to...

I see the 388 is running excellently. Currently 30+ min wait at Stratford... Not the first time this has happened, I remember waiting for 30 minutes for the 388 to come a couple of months back at Stratford City. Incidentally, I used the 388 yesterday too going towards Elephant & Castle but this time I was at St Paul’s Station. I missed one, but another came like straight away after that one. I’m pretty sure if I missed that one I would of had to wait for awhile for it to turn up...

Sudbury Hill has been closed all week at night and the 92 and H17 are diversion via South Harrow and it’s not mentioned on there site.

Didn't know where to post this but I need some views of enthusiasts on this forum. Is Barnet or Lewisham a better place to live, advantages and disadvantages? Thanks It's very hard to comment as we can't know what your personal preferences are about lifestyle, amenities, if you need facilities for any children you have, whether you commute and how far you wish to travel, access to health facilities etc etc. Also are you referring to the Boroughs or Town Centres? Note I'm not asking you for lots of details - here is not the place. Only you can weigh up what matters to you and you'll have to research those things for yourself. The obvious comment is that Barnet is much further out and if you have to commute to the centre then costs will be far higher and journey times longer. Bus services are obviously a bit thinner in Barnet than in Zone 2 but, again, more info needed to try to give a sensible assessment. If you prefer to see patches of greenery and don't mind hills then Barnet may be OK but I doubt it's a cheap place to live unless you live in a more "hell hole" part of the place. It's not all swanky posh houses in Barnet. They are largeish areas of more mundane housing and council estates. Barnet is one of the biggest boroughs in London so you could live in any number of places within the Borough. The council has a pretty shoddy reputation due to its fixation with cost cutting and contracting out services - it might be lowish council tax but what you get for the money is pretty dreadful. There are also a lot of rumours about corruption in the council's decision making process - depending on who you listen to. With Lewisham you're in a more diverse and busy area than Barnet. Lots more transport options into town but they are all very busy and stressed. Do you really want to use South Eastern trains? Again the Borough covers a lot of different areas so there may be interesting choices if you look around. There are a lot of people who live in that Borough who are very passionate about their area and are very involved with its culture and local activities. Witness the campaign to save Lewisham Hospital and how they trashed Jeremy Hunt's plans. Don't know about things like education facilities. I don't like what they're doing to the town centre near the station - the road system is a disaster and I'm not a fan of endless tower blocks in London's suburbs. However that's a personal view and a very small part of the totality of what makes up Lewisham or how you should judge it. To me Lewisham has more of a "vibe" about it than Barnet ever will. Based on an entirely superficial view I'd choose Lewisham over Barnet but then my value system is not yours. It's all academic anyway as there's no way I can afford to move within London given house prices. If I was to ever move it would have to be out of London to somewhere with vastly cheaper housing and no doubt vastly less of everything else. Thanks Mr Snoggle. I really appreciate you took time to respond.

Hi guys, I have been absent from the forum for quite a while now. I have on been on a retreat in Thailand for the last month. Hope you guys have been well. I’m good thanks, hope you enjoyedThailand! Where abouts did you go to out of interest? Sorry for the late reply, but I was in Bangkok. It was a nice trip away from London. Seems like a lot has happened since I have been away. Been lurking to get an idea what's going on.

Didn't know where to post this but I need some views of enthusiasts on this forum. Is Barnet or Lewisham a better place to live, advantages and disadvantages? Thanks A bit like comparing apples and oranges! I've never lived in Barnet, or anywhere in North London, but I've worked in N. London, and lived in two houses consecutively in Lewisham for many years, as well as being educated in that area at a time when I didn't live there. Lewisham is more real London, in my eyes, but that can of course have a negative as well as positive impact. Mugging first became common in South London, and both my wife and I suffered the experience near to Lewisham town centre, but who's to say whether it wouldn't have happened in Golders Green, say? Lewisham is more culturally diverse than Barnet, I'd say, without the 'enclaves' that appear to exist in parts of Barnet, from what I read. As far as transport is concerned, Lewisham doesn't have a tube, of course, and won't have for many years, if ever! I'd say bus services are more over-subscribed in Lewisham too, and an accident in the Blackwall Tunnel or even the Dartford Crossing can have huge ramifications for roads miles around for hours afterwards. Barnet might offer an easier life, but a less exciting one!

I don’t know why TfL would remove diversion signs whilst the diversion is still on. Sudbury Hill is closed and the 92 is diversion. I'm on a 92 and the driver keeps asking for directions like he's not sure were he is going and not having the diversion boards is not helping.

Barnet might offer an easier life, but a less exciting one! I've used to live in New and High Barnet for about 10 years altogether. Its a pretty peaceful and uneventful area, although there are some parts that can be a bit more 'dangerous', mainly the estates as it is in more areas across the country. Shopping wise it wasn't really my cup of tea, I'm more of a bargain person so Waitrose didn't really suit my needs but if you like the more high end shops then Barnet has all you need, or you can just hop on a bus to somewhere like Edgware or Walthamstow for the bargains. Transport wise it depends on what you like. Its a very much Metroline dominated area with PB running most of the services, who do run their routes to a brilliant standard so that's the reliable services ticked, but if you like 'tender wars' then I can't see that happening in Barnet anytime soon. You've also got the Northern Line and Great Northern providing a quick link into Central London when you are in a rush, although the so called Great Northern does have a tendency to cancel the service you want, which on a every 30 mins frequency is rather frustrating to say the least!

GTR aren't the best, but frequent enough trains into London (Moorgate). I used to fix the ticket machines at New Barnet. It seems a quiet enough area if you can deal with the "Metroline Everything" aspect of being there. To quote Monday Night Football's Jamie Carragher, you're 'spitting distance' from the countryside as well I used to have tons of mates in Lewisham, I had no issues there, I think trouble is everywhere. The only issues was the traffic near Catford or at the other end of town in Blackheath / Blackwall Tunnel. There was a good Chinese takeaway on Lee High Rd but I think it's gone now I remember seeing my first blue and yellow Metrobus and being surprised such liveries could be found in London (this was 2001 though before everything was smothered in red). A diverse area, but I think across London the crime has gone through the roof... when Croydon sneezes, Enfield catches a cold, it's everywhere. Another senseless shooting today in Hackney this time. These scum have cars or mopeds to travel to wherever they want, and with police seemingly unable to stop knife crime, London's getting very nasty. I think we are up to 8 stabbings or shootings in just one week. Muggings is more your little scrotes on scooters, but they seem to target Islington now, or the West End jewellers when phones are scarce...
