Not been on an EvoSeti bus 13 in the really hot weather - until today. I have travelled on Boilmasters top deck front row and never thought another London bus could compete with how hot they become. All I can say is that the Boilmaster has met its match and more! The EvoSeti, sorry BakeSeti, felt really hot when I got on, but when I went upstairs it was truly horrendous. I sat down and suddenly my bum felt on fire, from the hot seat. I dread to think what the temperature was on that bus. I don't know if there was something wrong with this particular bus, or if all EvoSetis are really BakeSetis! I would be surprised if they were given they are manufactured by MCW who I think are Egyptian, a country better known for its heat than cold, so you'd think they would know how to keep a bus cool!
MCW? Moved from Washwood Heath have they?

I've not had any issues with Go-Ahead's MHV's but I did have a hot VMH on the 30 last Saturday so I don't think it's universal - that said, they're still no match for a LT - only yesterday was my mum moaning about the one she used.

I don't go along with this boilmaster nonsense but as it happens I heard about somebody having to get off a 63 due to the "unbearable heat" and continue their journey by taxi, I don't know whether it was an Evoseti but there certainly haven't been any LT's on the 63.

I've been on many relatively cool EvoSetis, your experience must've been an exception due to a non-working or faulty Air Cooling unit.

I'm not on the anti-Evoseti bandwagon, I happen to quite like them but they are not without their issues. With some members of the MHV class specifically, some of the window seals are there for show only as if you happen to lean on the window ever so slightly, it might give way - flic.kr/p/26aDGguNot sure how safe this is however, I'm pretty sure windows are supposed to be properly secured.

That is a bit concerning, I don't particularly dislike the Evoseti but they do have a rather cheap feel about them.

Don't MHVs have bonded windows. If so that seal is there solely for waterproofing reasons, which it will more than happily do if it was released to fit flush against the window. It is the bonding that holds the window in place.

Or, given the route it's on, a BakerStreeti.

Why would you be leaning on a window? Just think about it...........the bus turns sharply left or right whilst you're in the process of sitting down or getting up. and the chance of this happening is? Highly unlikely. Buses don't do handbrake turns.

To my knowledge, one incident when a pane of glass has fallen from a (single deck) London bus since I joined London Transport in 1972. This was down to very poor maintenance on the vehicle concerned not the design of the bus. Regularly travel by bus. Never seen anyone get anywhere near being thrown into a window.

No I've never seen a pane of glass fall out but there's no room for complacency. Until last year I'd never seen a tower block go up in flames!
