Which train companies are your favourite?
Many of the franchises have been complete disasters, including Connex, NatEx, Thameslink, FGW, etc..
The best one I can think of is Southern....great livery, clean trains , no disasters i can think of etc ....

I would say South West Trains, I like their livery, comfortable seats and usually on time.

I would probably say First Great Eastern or Virgin. The number of times i use dthe West Coast Mainline, the service was generally pretty good.
FGE were a d*mn sight better than NatEx in the cleanliness stakes so far!! Service levels have stayed the same though, so can't complain in that respect ;D

C2C are the best quite nice trains always on time never many enginering works That was something I used to find living in Basildon and having to catch a c2c train every day to get to college - if the board said a certain time you could pretty much guarantee that you'd be on the train and most probably in a seat at the time advertised. And yes Bighat I have to agree their seating layout is a little odd - but I found them comfy.. I went to an interview in Hendon once and got on a train in Fenchurch Street in mid afternoon having been up since about 4:30 and promptly fell asleep - didn't wake up again until the train hit West Horndon
