It is nearly six months since all the nonsense concerning Tom Farooqi and friends was a major problem on this forum.
Another transport forum decided to ban any membership application received from a member using a hidden or unidentifiable IP address from a proxy server (with special arrangements for those who WERE prepared to prove whom they were) and this seems to be working well.
However, I received a PM from a member of this forum yesterday pointing out that Farooqi and friends are back in the forum business, this time using a person named Ryan Hunter to front it, as Farooqi himself is personna non grata with Proboards.
Another formal complaint WILL be made to Proboards in the near future!
They may have stopped laughing by now at Oglalucia's last stupidity when his pet hamster accidentally deleted his last forum, by walking on his keyboard!
The member who contacted me had suffered severly with some of his personal work being plagiarised (STOLEN) by Farooqi, RNAM, Carlovel1 et al for their 'wannabe' forums.
Now, it would appear that, once again, they have infiltrated our membership, and are using the member lists to access members who they are contacted, imploring them to join their new forum (itself a breach of forum rules here).
So far, several members from this forum have signed up. One is new to our forum, and propbably was not aware of their past behaviour and knows no better.
Others include more established members. It is of course entirely their choice, but I do have to wonder if it is an ego thing, given al that has been said about this mob!
I noticed a HUGE influx of new members to this forum last June, and drew it to the attention of the Admin on tis forum FWIW, but as all has been quiet, perhaps it was felt that the 'danger' had passed.
I have been carrying out a survey over the last four weeks, and can report that, of the daily visitors, about 33% are from this group of June members, NONE of whiom have every posted, but visit almost daily.
It is certain that Farooqi, RNAM, Carlovel1/Oglaucia 51 are hidden amiongst thias silent mass, ready to revert to their despicable and sometimes illegal activities.
You may ask what is the matter with non-posting members?
Normally nothing, although I do wonder what they actually BRING to the forum?
In the light of the recent events, perhaps it would be worth a more thorough examination of their bona fides, especially checking IP addresses and the like, to weed out the 'bad uns'.
Easier, why not insist on membership being conditional on a reasonable posting activity within a set period?
As I said, for my money they BRING nothing to the forum. It is what they may be TAKING AWAY that bothers me!

I apologise for any errors, as this list was compiled often late into the night, but you get the idea.
Also, any apologies to any GENUINE but shy members, but the remedy is simple, JOIN IN.
You are welcome to watch the activities of the above, they represent 33% of our average daily membership visits AT LEAST, but worse, conceal some undesirable people whose presence is NOT wanted!
