As you may already know, from 2nd Jan 2010 Oyster PAYG will be able to be used on all national rail services within the London Travelcard zone (except express services to Heathrow, and most high-speed services).
What effect do you think this will have?
Heres what I think might happen:
* Passenger usage will probably increase on National Rail services in London. I think the increase will be seen mostly in south London.
* It could encourage more people to leave there cars at home, as ticketing would now be much more simple with National Rail services.
Do you think more people will use National Rail compared to the underground. For example, in areas where there is an underground service in to London, but also with a National Rail service nearby, will more people start using the National Rail service instead? I think it could relieve the pressure from Underground services. (maybe in places such as Stratford, the Ilford/Romford/Dagenham corridor, West Ham, etc)
One thing im looking forward to is the section between Chingford and Walthamstow Central will now accept Oysters, so I can start using that line more often. Its only currently accepted between Walthamstow and Liverpool Street.
So, what do you think the effects will be of the introduction of Oysters on National Express services?

Well i for one will be more than happy to use the NatEx services more often when i have no Travelcard ;D Did abit of research on TfL's site and it'll cost £2 single from Romford to Stratford!! My only concern is that, if this is the price of a SINGLE journey, then a return could end up being cheaper between Goodmayes and Forest Gate, which could lead to the 86 being a) more reliable (a good thing) and b) less busy. I suppose it's one way of reducing costs You were wrong about the c2c line though as they've been accepting PAYG for a very long time now all the way to Upminster and Rainham. The only difference with these is that the "zone" is being extended from these to Grays, which will include Chafford Hundred for Lakeside. Means i might stop using the 370/372 from now on too ;D
