But they ain't as loud as the V reg, thats what defines them from all the other ELBG Euro II Voith Tridents. Some were. Just depended on which ones you got and what driver you had. If you wanted loud, 17137 was the one. You really couldn't hear the person next to you talk, it was incredible I always seemed to get quiet ones. Also, they seemed to not turn up when I waited for them, hence why I only have two vids of them (one being filmed when the Trident moved to Brighton and was very painfully slow up a hill).

I was told today by a cousin from Manchester that aparently those new stagecoach Manchester MAN Enviro 400s that were mentioned by route 295 around october last year (don't know how many remember), that were supposed to have a MAN chassis and engine, it turns out that they actually have a Trident chassis but with a MAN DO 8.36 engine. Fleet numbers are 19621 - 40, regs are MX59KHx/KJx. I will post a link when i find it again but they are just your bog standard euro 5 trident enviro 400 just with a MAN engine instead of a cummins one, there is a vid of one too go onto you tube and type enviro 400 19634.

Stagecoach have ordered another 340 buses (including a few coaches) costing £50m Doesn't seem to be any MAN chassis buses this time www.stagecoachplc.com/scg/media/press/pr2010/2010-08-09/100 Scania enviro 400s 63 Alexander Dennis enviro400s 70 Alexander Dennis enviro300s 76 Alexander Dennis enviro200s 9 Optare Solo 3 Optare Versa 17 Volvo plaxton coaches Not sure why they have split the enviro400 chassis order unless ADL can't make them as fast as the bodies

There are noticable differences between the Cummins E-400 and a MAN E-400, mainly at the rear end, the MAN's have a longer rear overhang to accomodate the larger MAN Engine and Transmission set-up and thier Radiators are on the offside as opposed to the Cummins ones which are on the nearside.

Interesting that Scania chassis are now being used for enviro400s, maybe ADL should update their website and show this chassis option I think the new E400s for Oxford bus are also Scania. (Stagecoach ones for Oxford are hybrids) Scania and MAN are now sharing best of each companies designs www.scania.com/media/pressreleases/n10023en.aspx

So unlikely to see Scania Enviro 400s in London if TfL keeps wanting the shorter 10.1m version. Edit : Just realised these 100 were an option on July 2009 order www.scania.co.uk/about-scania/media/press-releases/2009/major-stagecoach-bus-order.aspx

Almost wet myself yesterday when I saw a Stagecoach Devon E400 pull up for my bus to the station on their 39 in Newton Abbot. Unfortunately it was a Trident but did get to taste my first ever EuroIV Voith E400 ;D Was even better with the leather seats

Odd as one the Friday the 39 had an Olympian allocated to it too. Must admit that the X38 between Heathfield and Plymouth was an interesting ride. I suspect many of the drivers on here would have a heart attack seeing the roads they were getting a LWB Trident down!! ;D

The 51 for Stagecoach in Eastbourne uses near enough any vehicle that is available whereas other routes like the 11 uses Cadets (until recently), 'The Loop' MCV Evolutions, the 1/1A 'Uno' Enviro 300's, etc

Must admit, over the 2 days that i used the X38, that had a constant allocation of 18113-18118 and were, in typical Stagecoach fashion, very well turned out with no mechanical problems. Makes BW's equivalent 04-reg vehicles seem pretty poor really (182** batch)

Had you had Arriva, Go-Ahead or Stagecoach there, the whole fleet would be in much better shape but instead we have the cumbersome ELBG instead .
