@dannyb You seem to be local, do you think the D6 should receive Double Deckers? Absolutely not suggesting this, but potentially if TFL were to look at the 388 - could the 388 be more likely if cut back to somewhere in Hackney (if TFL thought adequate) be merged with the D6?

Being selfish, as an occasional user of the 388 between Bethnal Green and London Bridge, I hope not. I see the D6 rather than use it. Id say loadings are that of a busy single deck route as opposed to a route where people get left behind.

I'm not the one who's proposing it but if TFL were under this 4% cut suggesting stuff like this could we see the Stratford City - Ash Grove bit be merged onto the D6 if they were so insistent?

I am absolutely not suggesting this don't worry, if TFL and their so called "consultation team" are watching let's just hope that I don't give them any ideas If TFL were planning on meddling with the 388 more, (I couldn't tell you the amount of changes the termini has changed) maybe they may end up merging the northern end of the 388 onto the D6.

If that was to happen wouldn't the D6 be what the D8 was between 2011-2016 (Albeit through a different routing) from Stratford City to Crossharbour.

OK you not suggesting it but created a post suggesting changes and even tagged for a random reason.

Pre covid I would argue the route would benefit from DDs. The D6 is one of those nifty quick routes which gets you from point A to B faster than others. It’s much faster than the 277, D7 and 135 plus has a unique route / connections so gets very well used. As an example it takes 15 -20 min less time than 135 to get to limehouse burdett road, 10 min less than the 277 and is similar / more frequent.

Hello all
Does anyone know if the W19 has got a contract extension as I believe if it hasn't then the contract would probably be up in November as it will be 5 years since HCT has been running the route (d*mn time flies) and also the 26 as well? (Marks 5 years)

(Marks 5 years) 26 definitely has along with the 388. Also pretty sure the W19 has been given a extension.

Yep all of those routes plus the 309, W11, W12 & W13 have got two years contract extensions and it's just the 397 & W16 that didn't get contract extensions.

(Marks 5 years) London Bus Routes (not always right, but a good guide) quotes it as being extended.

HCT Group seems to do well when it comes to contract extensions, and also retaining routes.
